DISCLAIMER: I'll be active for the week after this for the last touches to my projects. After that, I'm gone. I shouldn't be making this so ornate, and I should just get straight to the point instead of making this fancy thumbnail and all. Simply put, I'm quitting Scratch. It's that straight. I've been semi-inactive for quite some time now; I've deleted 2 accounts so far. I'm not willing to quit this account, so I'm leaving this account here. I won't be active anymore on Scratch. If you see me on Scratch, then you must be pretty lucky (or unlucky) to find me. It's just that Scratch doesn't feel the way it used to be. When I first joined it at 5, it looked so retro. That was the selling point. Scratch 3.0 was a well-needed upgrade, but everything's changing too fast for me to adjust to. Also, I'm getting quite bored of Scratch. There have been less ambitious projects now; nothing is as high-quality as it used to be. My friends have already 'retired' or 'quit' from Scratch. Aside from @TheRealBroFTW, there have been lots more that have also quit. Also, Scratch just seems unsettling now. Just like Roblox, something about Scratch feels disturbing. Maybe it's the users, or the creators, but whatever it is, it feels so awfully creepy. I'm sure no one will be reading this, but still, might as well post it. Honestly, I'm ready to make the switch from Scratch to... well, anything. I may still be active just for the sake of old times or to make one or two projects, and I am planning to share all my old projects, too. I remember making an account, my first one, 2017, and then my second one, 2019. Both are now gone, and I think now it's time for this one to go, too. I don't want to overdramatize things, but it's kind of hard, with quitting something I've been doing for 6 years. Goodbye, Scratch. Maybe forever, maybe temporarily, but most likely for a long, long time. I will still remember you as a faint memory of the past, and maybe I will one day come back, but for now, you shall remain nothing but a ghost of my past. Rest in peace, @ballistic_coder.
