- WARNING! Though I will not reference his language, this is made in reference to it. Discretion is advised. - I had two exams today and I have like a a massive math exam coming up so I think I'd take a break and make this. Been trying to get into 'real music' and I got back into Em. He's got his flaws, but I think he's great when he really tries. Other artists I've been thinking about listening to / have been listening to (some of their songs) include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gorrilaz, Men at Work, Kanye (Before he went crazy), Ice Cube, Dre, Tupac, Biggie, Duster and the Cranberries. Eminem was pretty easy to get into but I don't want to listen to his stuff too much- you what the stans can be like lol. I'd also like to say Curtain Call houses my favourite song from Em, When I'm Gone, but it's a compilation so I won't count it. Singles like Lose Yourself or Killshot or Eminem's features like his features on Dr. Dre's 2001 are great, but unfortunately don't make it on here... Anyway! 12. Revival Hey. Name one good song from Revival. Go. Do it. 11. Encore It's so jarring that one of Eminem's most nostalgic albums (for me at least) is one of his worst. I guess songs like Just Lose It and _ _ _ Like That overshadow the bad ones. It's clearly the weakest of his older albums. Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird though are really emotional songs and I do think they're highlights that make this album better. Mockingbird is just such a really touching song since it feels like someone using music to communicate emotion, not just swearing into a mic. Not that that's not what you'd expect from rapping lol, but it kinda rots your brain after some time so stuff like Mockingbird is what wakes you in that car ride to tell you you're nearly home. I understand why it's so weak, if you know, you know. but uh yeah. 10. Infinite It's his first album. The title song is pretty chilled out. It's not bad at all, hey, it may better then some of the other stuff. I'd probably have ranked it as high as 5th to be honest. But humble beginnings, humble rankings? Eh... it's just... infinite I guess. Overlooked by pretty much everyone. 9. Relapse I think post Encore Eminem was more focused on writing music expressing what he felt or was going through, which is hard to critique since when you critique the song, it feels you're critiquing and making conclusions of someone you've never met. I think Beautiful is kinda like the hinge of this album, without it I would have ranked Infinite higher. I can see the passion in stuff like 3 a.m., but it doesn't hit the same. Everything feels the same, y'know? Maybe it's the instrumentals or the hooks. I dunno, Relapse is eh. 8. Recovery Now Recovery is when I think stuff gets decent. I wouldn't label it as bad. Some songs like Love the way you lie and Not Afraid are some of Eminem's greatest, just like Mockingbird was. What you'll see with my opinions on him is that his weaker albums usually only have a couple of songs going for them. Some songs like Cold Wind Blows and Untitled are good, but this definitely feels like a rocky start to this new era of his work. If I give it more of a listen I could see it in mid B. 7. Music to be Murdered by Side A (MTMBA) I'd say he's generally average on here. It's more just Eminem being modern, nothing stands out. Maybe Unaccommodating? More on this later. 6. MMLP2 Now we're cooking with gas. Though not all the songs on here go hard like his greatest imo, he's got some great tracks. Bad Guy's final verse (My god that final verse), Rap God, Brainless, Rhyme or Reason do feel like a modern take on his classic style. The Monster is like a sequel to Love the Way You, or in spirit at least. Rhianna and Eminem work so well together. Though I still feel I can't pinpoint my stances on his albums until just now with \/

5. Kamikaze This high ranking probably has to do with its small track list, but still. Imo this is when Eminem finally 'came back'. Despite the meme-yness of it Venom is a great song and Kamikaze, The Ringer and Not Alike sound pretty great too. But unlike ranks 12-6 where I only had one or two favourites (Mockingbird and the Rhianna stuff), we finally have another fave here. My god is Lucky You the best song on this album by a long shot. It's actually one of the songs I have playing for this project. I think the bad of Kamikaze is just a miss through and through, like Fall where though the rhymes are great, the instrumental is eh and the hook is not that great. 4. Music to be Murdered by Side B (MTBMBB) This is where the stuff gets good. The best of Eminem's post Eminem Show work and his latest album. If you include the good from MTBMBA, this album is just solid with a ton of songs I love. I can see why people may not like them but I like Black Magic, Gnat and Tone Deaf- and I love Tone deaf lol. Their instrumentals go hard, but I can see why people cringe at them since they're not too deep in quality. And fun fact, I joked about Bornana like a month before it became a meme with my friend and it annoyed him (in a good way) for like a whole season lol. Alfred's Theme is pretty awesome, but Book of Rhymes? Oh boy, that stuff goes hard lmao. Discombobulated too! Higher exists. This album is like editing the assignment that was terrible into a A. I definitely think that this is the level of quality fans have been wanting. 3. The Slim Shady LP What's not to like? It's like a beta Marshall Mathers LP. This marks the beginning of the best era of Eminem where he was just incredible. My Name is, Guilty Conscience, Brain Damage, Role Model and Just Don't Give A are all great. I think it's better the MTBMB Side B, but I definitely prefer Side B. Still, this album is clearly better and was Eminem's 'first major hit'. 2. The Eminem Show The highs of this album imo are the highs of this guy's career. The MMLP is consistently the best, but the best on here are just epic. White America?! Business?! Square Dance?! Till I collapse?! Without Me?! Superman?! All of these songs just rock- White America especially. I'd go into detail about each song, but Scratch is Scratch. But the best of this album is Sing for the Moment, another one of my favourites and probably my second favourite of Eminem. 1. Marshall Mathers LP I won't repeat the name of every song, but pretty much every song but Kim and The Kids is great and most people agree with that sentiment. Nearly every feature is incredible.. My favourite song would prolly be Criminal- BUT Stan always takes the cake for favourite for most people, so I figured I'd bring it up. What's not to say what is already said? I can't say a ton on here about song specifics due to word count limits and Scratch's rules, but you get the idea. Hope you liked my ranking.
