I told my friend over messages (the actual app is censored lol) a joke about mice being in my walls, which my friends know I tend to be dramatic when I'm poking fun. I told my mom and she completely shot me down for no reason, saying "He'll tell his mom about it and I'll have to rip up a bunch of stuff over something that isn't TRUE or FUNNY," and it hurt my feelings.
I know it's childish, but you don't tell someone happy to stop being happy. She lacks empathy, but it doesn't put aside the fact that she said that to me and it hurt. It felt like she put aside my feelings for some walls and objects, and although she didn't say much, again, it doesn't change the fact she said it and it felt inconsiderate.
