We have struck a berg. It's a CQD, old man." 12:45: Lifeboat 7 On Starboard side is the first lifeboat to be lowered. Some passengers refuse to get on the lifeboats, thinking Titanic is unsinkable. 12:55: Lifeboat 5 is the first lifeboat to leave Titanic. 1:00: Lifeboat 3 is lowered. 1:10: Lifeboat 8 is among the first lifeboats to be launched on the port side. 1:20: Lifeboat 10 is launched. 2:00: Titanic's bow has sunk low enough the proppelers are visible. Captain Smith releases the crew stating: "It's every man for himself.". Captain Smith is last seen heading to the bridge. He would go down with Titanic. 2:17: The last distress signal is sent. The Bridge and officers quarters have flooded. 2:18: Titanic's lights go out as water reaches the engines. The Titanic's bow continues to sink, raising the stern out, putting stress on the midship. Titanic breaks between Funnels 2 and 3. 2:20: The stern goes under. 3:30: Carpathia arrives. 4:10: Lifeboat 2 is the first lifeboat to reach Carpathia.
