-------------------How To Roleplay-------------------- Here are some roleplay tips and tricks before you start: Dos: 1. Fill out a sign-up form before roleplaying in that rp. Be sure that the host accepts it before starting. 2. Describe in detail what your character is like when signing up. If it's a small, undetailed description, no one (including you) really knows what your character is like. 3. Make sure you have read and understood the plot and have followed it correctly. 4. Follow the rules in the rp. If you don't, it's just downright rude, and will probably result in you being kicked out of it. 5. Keep it PG! It's just a roleplay, and Scratch is a kids' website. If you do use words like bl00d or k!ll, I would recommend using numbers/symbols instead of vowels, like I just did. 6. Learn words like rp (short for roleplay) and CRP (closed/continued rp) which means that that user is roleplaying with a particular person, and no-one else can join unless invited. Nt (new thread) which means that they are continuing their rp on a new thread (comment) and ORP (open roleplay) which means anyone can rp on that thread are common ones too. 7. All characters have flaws and strengths, so make sure your character displays them in the rp. 8. Use third person when roleplaying: "He sat down and glared at Snowfall". 9. Keep the roleplay going - no-one likes a boring rp. However, if you want to create a big event, make sure you have the host's permission. 10. Make sure your grammar is good. It makes the role-play seem childish and bad if someone uses 'u' instead of 'you', or 'hru' instead of 'how are you'. Don't worry too much about punctuation, but some things such as inverted commas (speech marks) generally need to be used correctly. 11. Be respectful. That one's pretty self-explanatory. 12. Ask the owner of a character if you want to k1ll/seriously injure it in the rp. 13. If you want to say something outside of the roleplay, use brackets or this (example): Should they fight?)) She hissed, claws repeatedly sheathing and unsheathing. 14. Put in some detail. If you say something simple, it's harder for the other person to make something off it. 15. Your character doesn't always have to be saying things, unless it's a personality trait. You can describe actions, emotions or feelings as well. 16. Dislike the character, not the user. 17. Make sure your characters are interacting. If they're purposely ignoring each other because they're enemies, that's fine. But if they're just doing their own thing, it doesn't make a great roleplay. Also, if a character says "Go away!", it doesn't mean that the other has to. 18. Make sure your reply makes sense and proof-read it before posting it. 19. If your comment is bigger than the Scratch limit, use (+) at the end of the comment to indicate that there is more to come. 20. Usually, roleplays are held on studios, but they can be on profiles as well. 21. If you have any questions, ask! The host will know most things, but if it's about a particular character, then ask their owner instead. 22. Enjoy it! Rps are meant to be fun, not stressful!

Description

Don'ts: 1. No power playing: Power playing means your character is crazily over-powered. For example: 'Stormclaw clawed at Sunheart's eyes, blinding her. He flipped over her and attacked her from behind, clawing at her until she d!ed of bl00d loss." 2. No Mary-Sues. A Mary-Sue means that your character is perfect. Most roleplays have 2 pros and 2 cons about the character's personality in their form. 3. No pure evil characters. Everyone makes mistakes (some bigger than others) but there is no “pure evil” or “will k!ll everyone he comes across” 4. Don't control other people's characters or create a backstory for them, unless specifically asked by the owner. However, you can ask. *coughihavemadethatmistakebeforecough* 5. Don't create a 'main character' or have all the spotlight. It's not fun for other roleplayers when one character has all the attention. 6. If the other roleplayer isn't replying, don't panic. They might have had to leave abruptly, or are still typing. Even if it's been a few days, they might just be really busy. If it's been a while, consider sending a little reminder comment (example): Are you still online?)) 7. Don't use asterisks. Please. Example: *sits down* *glares at Snowfall* 8. Even if it is an ORP, don't join it if they've rped a bit. It's difficult to do a three-way rp, and practically impossible to do more. However, if you are doing a three-way rp, but only reply to one comment by one person, show the other rper that comment by replying to them with a '^'. 9. Don't create huge, depressing backstories. 10. Don't make lots of characters. It's difficult to keep track of them all. ------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any questions about rping or this project, just ask me :)
