I just want to get it out because school prevents me from working on anything on the weekdays., so I have nothing really new to post. The art is old and kind of bad, but I don’t have any motivation to fix it so… Also his backstory is so edgy I can’t ☠️ Original desc. If you're going "Dozora, who is this? I've never seen or heard of him before". Read the "explanation" button. I want to upload this now because I've been working on the project for like a month(?) now. The backstory kind of makes be embarrassed, but I don't really feel like fixing, and I don't have any new ideas for it. He is a background character. ══════════════════════════════════ Vale Gender: Male (He/Him) Age: 17 Relationship status: Single; refuses to engage in relationships with others (for reasons explained below) Birth Date: 1985 Backstory: Okay so there's this organization (possibly? I'm not sure what this entity qualifies as; a cult? a gang? idk) that is led by a power-hungry man who wants to recruit young children or teenagers (because they are a bit easier to manipulate) so he can turn them into assassins and/or workers; they can kill dragons that he needs to kill, so he doesn't have to do it himself. They recruit vulnerable or otherwise unfortunate dragons who aren't doing so well. However, sometimes, they purposefully ruin other dragons' lives in order to them to join the organization. When Vale was very young his parents were murdered by a member of the organization. Obviously, he was terrified, and the killer chased Vale into the woods; Vale was able to escape. However, the murderer intentionally let Vale escape so that another member of the organization could pretend to find Vale and "adopt" him. A member found him, took care of him for a few days, and then took Vale in where he was raised by the dragons in the organization. Vale grew up being indoctrinated into believing that the organization was doing this for the greater good, and that the leader will reform society for the better, but the leader needs to bump off a "few" important dragons first. Vale is trained and sent on his first mission with a few others at the age of 15. His smaller stature and speed allow him to kill swiftly and flee before people see him. Vale proves to be good at his job, so he's sent to kill more dragons. He is conflicted about this; however, every time Vale said that he may want to leave, others in the organization would pressure him into staying by telling him that they are all that he has, and that if he did leave, he'd have no one to turn to and nowhere to go. In the organization, there were several other assassins about Vale's age, and he was friends with a few of them. One of them, Vale's closet friend, began to question the group, the leader, and its practices. His friend decided to secretly sneak out of the designated sleeping quarters at night to gather information more about the group, and y'know he found out that they're not good people and the stuff that they have been told their entire lives was a lie, so Vale's friend desired to escape and live a new life as a different dragon. They told Vale this and the two attempted to escape together; however, the leader found out that they were going to attempt to escape and that the friend uncovered secret information about the group, so he sent his most trusted assassin (and right-hand man) to kill Vale and his friend. When they did try to escape, the assassin killed Vale's friend. The assassin also attempted to kill Vale as well; however, Vale was quick, and he successfully escaped. For the next few months, Vale survived in the forest alone. Although, one day, the leader of the organization decided to attempted to kill Vale again, but, y'know, he's lazy and he uses assassins, so he sent another one to hunt down Vale. The other assassin, a girl who Vale knew, but was not particularly close to, attempted to kill him, but, again, he evaded the first attack, and they end up fighting one on one. After a violent and turbulent fight, Vale emerged victorious, but heavily injured.
(continuing here because it was to long for Scratch apparently ☠ ) Before the assassin died, she threatened Vale by telling him that the organization is keeping tabs on him and that if he leaks information about them, then they will kill him and whoever he tells the information to; after she died, he ran off again. Since his wing membranes were intensely injured during the fight, he could not fly (although, he has no scars on his wings as dragons are able to regenerate their wing membranes as it's one of the few parts of a dragon not covered in fire-resistant scales). However, a woman found him injured, and she decided to let him stay with her. Currently, he lives with her and helps her with her café while she attempts to teach him how to live normally. Personality: While Vale is unruly and defiant, he attempts to be good, and he doesn't want to hurt any more dragons. He is paranoid as he is worried that the organization will find him and kill him, so he commonly avoids actual social interactions and only really talks to the café workers on occasion. He also doesn't like to get close to people anymore out of the fear that if he did, the organization will kill them too. Therefore, he hides behind a mask of confidence and slight aloofness to avoid getting people attached to him. This is a reason as to why he currently refuses to date others. Due to his past, he values his personal freedom and dislikes other telling him what to do; Vale only listens and is close with the café owner.
