This is just a little mock-up since most of the content for the Yo-Kai Watch series has been made for SSBG. The Instructions include the details and some notes on YKW's development like cut content, and the Notes and Credit credit those involved. Series: Yo-Kai Watch Fighter: Jibanyan Stages: Mt. Wildwood Music: Vs Yo-Kai (YKW1 - Maluyuu) Ending Theme (YKW1 - Maluyuu) Northbeech (Maluyuu) Spritesheets: https://www.deviantart.com/xxalexsmashxx/art/Team-Yo-Kai-Jibanyan-Better-Sprite-Sheet-880794381 Notes: - Excluding Dragon Ball, Yo-Kai Watch is the only series with a playable character and stage that was included out of my own bias. Really, I only chose it and Dragon Ball as they were my favourite game series and non-gaming series respectively as of then and as of now. The only other inclusion that I recognise as bias is the inclusion of a No More Heroes stage. Even Travis Touchdown, Diddy & Dixie and Waluigi all were cut, the first two hailing from my second and third favourite games respectively (No More Heroes 1 and Donkey Kong Country 2, which both have stages in their place) and the last being the third most wanted inclusion. So don't go complaining that I was being too biased, I hope I don't get across that idea. Ofc I'd be to an extent, but I try to limit that. - If SSBG were to release as of right now up to the quality of @Spybaz 's work, this would mark the first instance of a playable Jibanyan in a 'quality Smash Bros. fan game'. - Yo-Kai Watch has the second most biographies planned to appear in SSBG, only beaten by the Super Mario series. - Whisper appearing in Jibanyan's moveset is one of the only instances of another character showing up in a moveset. The only other noteable example of this off the top of my head would be Rambi in Donkey Kong's moveset. - Depending on whether or not final smashes get in, Jibanyan's final smash could vary between Buchinyan or Shogunyan. - Jibanyan's moves are as seen on his spritesheet, but his specials are different. His Neutral-B is his rapid jab of paws- Paws of Fury. He can charge this up through his soul meter. It is a long attack that moves Jibanyan slightly forward at the beginning, but it is incredibly powerful- Falcon Punch levels of strength. His side special a fireball attack. His up special is him being floated up by Whisper. - Originally, Komasan was planned way back before I did my first homemade stage (If you know, you know.), but he was cut due to his lack of quality sprites. He'd later be replaced with Lord Enma, until a second Yo-Kai Watch rep was cut entirely due to me being worried about bias and wanting to have a higher quality output for the project. It is possible I will add a particle effect to this. - If you press space, a foggy version of the stage with a white tree is seen. This is a reference to the final boss of the first game, McKracken (Transformed) where the trees of Springdale blossom due to his negative influence. - Though the Crank-a-Kai appears on the stage, it serves no function. It makes this stage one of two to be completely flat- the other being the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. - Strong Yo-Kai Alert, Shake Shake Ogun No Shake (The YKWB Moon Rabbit Crew OP) and Vs Shadowside Boss had remixes in development, but got cut due to their quality. - Other stages were considered for the game, such as the Cluvian Continent from Yo-Kai Watch 3, the Divine Paradise from YKW2 and the Blasters House from YKWB. The first two had concepts made, but they weren't really that great. - Jibanyan, alongside Sonic and Mario was one of the first fighter portraits to be made. (Not to be confused with biography art) - Jibanyan is one of six currently planned newcomers, these being himself, Dr. Eggman, Goku, Vegeta, Gooigi and one more roster slot that is currently occupied by Vegito- who could be cut for another character entirely. And lastly... - Jibanyan's inclusion was my main inspiration for SSBG's creation. If Jibanyan were to absent, I feel like this project would lack the proper heart put in from my end to persist with development. Hence why he's the only 100% biased inclusion and why he feels like such a random pick. Regardless, I hope Jibanyan being eventually programmed into the framework goes smoothly and he becomes a fondly played character.
Massive thanks to @Maluyuu A.K.A. @ShiningNeon for her work on the soundtrack. Without her, YKW would remain without music. - Jibanyan's portrait by @Sekiyo / @SaimAxe - SSBG Series logo by @Popcornkid9 - Stage art by @BrickPlex - Bio art and series logo by @JeffyJeff_Production / JeffyJeff_the_second - Characters, locations and music and other properties / iconography originally from Yo-Kai Watch 1, 2, 3, etc. I, nor any of the developers in this project claim any ownership.
