So I had this idea for a while, and suddenly I had the impulse to try something with it! I wanted to do this to increase my creativity with poses and composition in theme songs- I feel like they're almost all the same to me X'D So how this works is I'll randomize the bands I listen to, randomize which album or EP I'm picking from, then then the songs; and I would do a sketch based on that song as if it were a theme song. I'll try to include an animal and a human version, and they'll likely be similar in a way, and if the background's darker, it means I'm imagining the environment to be darker. If it's a theme song I've already done, it would be just be redrawing/resketching it X'D oH AND ONE MORE THING- for people, I might just use a character that reminds me of the song (unless it actually suits), and for cats I might just use random characters, unless one suits a song. But the cats might be just random lol I didn't really want to figure out how to play music to go with the theme song sketches (because there were multiple versions), so I put some of them I could find in the project if you want haha. (or you could just listen to them on something else-) Keep in mind though, some of the songs MAY OR MAY NOT have some material inappropriate for scratch (none of those are in the project though), so listen at your own risk if you're sensitive to things like that :')) the ones that do will probably have a star on them, and I'm willing to bet most of them will be from Nothing But Thie- Edit: there was literally only one NBT song in here w h y and w h a t 1. Trouble - Coldplay (I already did this theme song, so I resketched it hehehe) there's two versions of one ;") also sorry it's hard to read the title ;w; 2. Pet Cheetah - Twenty One Pilots (I technically already did this theme song, but I declared it "non-suiting" for the character so) This one was tricky, because I couldn't actually tell what the song was about- there were so many ways I could draw this X'D this also isn't too different from the original :'0 3. Struck by Lightning - TOTO This was also interesting lol- I used cats because it's easier ha 4. Somebody New - Joywave Two versions, one with a cat, one with Nico because Joywave :') 5. Everything's Not Lost - Coldplay (finally a somewhat optimistic one pff) I used Therego and wanted to use Flint as a second version, but I could n o t get him to work soo ;w; 6. Old Yeller - Childish Japes whAT'S SO FUNNY, IS THAT A WHILE AGO I WAS THINKING THIS SONG MIGHT SUIT CLEO- (that's why I used him in this lloloollol) And if it does end up suiting him, this might actually turn into a theme song. X'D 7. Afraid of Love - TOTO Ooooof I'm not sure about this one X'D I didn't do a person one because the first person one I did kinda…looked weird, but when I didn't redo it because I kinda lost motivation (I tried redoing it after I did the rest of them) ;w; 8. Finish Line - Skillet (MAN I have not done something to or listened to Skillet in a WHILE-) One version because I had no idea how I was going to use a human for this uhh- and I used a wolf because…I dunno, I felt like using one. Finish Line reminded me of Wave, so XD 9. Blackout - Muse* (I'm not a great lyric-interpreter, but Muse has kinda a thing of creating a political theme in their songs, just a warning :'P this song seems vague enough to be okay though) I'm actually really happy with how both of these turned out :'0 I spent at least 20 mins on the first one, the second one took like- 3 X'D 10. Falling Away With You - Muse Funny how Blackout and FAWY are in the same album, almost right next to each other- and no that's not Crescent and Starlight, what are you talking about :') 11. Impossible - Nothing But Thieves* (fINALLY-) (this one has a swear in it) I was gonna use Nico in Kale's place, but he doesn't have a love interest X'D (that's why Kale's turquoise instead of purple) un- uNLEsS- 12. Chelsea - TOTO* This one was weird because I don't really know the song that well- and couldn't quite tell what it was about again- so I took a wild guess X'D 13. Summerland - half•alive Lol right after I drew this theme song, I went through a phase with this song hA 14. Business Man - Mother Mother* (just 'cause it's Mother Mother lol /hj) One with Crescent one with Nico lol 15. Polarize - Twenty One Pilots I also don't actually know what this song is about, but it definitely has something angsty to it so I winged it again lol 16. Lucy - Skillet hAHAHAHAHAH- I H A D TO USE JOHN FOR THIS ;W; not sure how well I captured the weight and grief of the song, but I like it :'D 17. Til Kingdom Come - Coldplay Used Therego and Flint this time because Flint decided to behave :)) 18. crushcrushcrush - Paramore I was losing motivation at this point, so I just did a cats version with of course Crescent and Starlight >;")) and that's all I did because motivation ran out the door X'D but who knows, maybe I'll do a part two :'000
I drew more crying characters in these few days for this project than I did in probably the whole year combined lol- drawing crying characters is fun :") And h a the randomizer I used for this l o v e d TOTO and hated NBT ;w;; And also hated Royal Blood more rip- now an explanation because yes: Now. You guys are going to have no idea who Childish Japes is. If you do, I will draw you whatever you want, fully shaded, with a painful background if wanted. :") For background, they're a jazz group that does not like to stick to jazz :DDD they do all kinds of different stuff, and Old Yeller is from their "rock/indie" album :'D their songs are…rather vague, soo it's hard to tell what they're about- (hAHAHAH I'M GOING THROUGH A CHILDISH JAPES PHASE RIGHT NOW LOL-) Edit: now it's a slight slight Paramore phase? :') but yeah this was fun. Super fun. B)) I'm still having ABSOLUTELY NO MOTIVATION TO DRAW THEME SONGS FOR SOME REASON- I think I want to get going on them again though, I think they would be fun.
