This is my entry for Heron’s MYO! Name: Ascend Gender: Female Species: Whisperwings Personality: Quiet, Shy, lonely at times, Secretive against her will, very caring if you win her trust. Wings and tail: Bug wings/tail that glow Small backstory: From a young age, Ascend was very close to her mother, her only living parent. When her mother was killed in a mine explosion, it wrecked her. Her mothers name was Canary, and she found that there had to be some significant reason that she was the ONLY one in the accident, like a canary in a cage. She went to live with her only family left, her uncle Coal, whom despised her mother and father. He mistreated her terribly, ultimately giving her the scar on her face. But she couldn’t tell anyone. Not even Ginette, her best friend, and the only person she really trusts. Her uncle would hurt them, too. So, she sat through. One night , weeks later, at dinner, her uncle lets something slip, but doesn’t notice that he said it. Something about a mine exploding. And the bomb he placed to start it. Ascend is horrified but really not all that surprised, which was sad. When her uncle falls asleep, she sneaks out to inform the authorities, telling them everything. Her uncle is arrested. Ascend had no other kin, so she moved in with Ginette’s family. They treat her like a daughter, and she finally feels at home. But she was never really the same. She doesn’t trust anyone but Ginette and her new family. And maybe it’s better that way. I tried a cartoony style for this drawing :) The scene going on in the pic is Ascend realizing what Coal did. Also, I forgot the claws and light stripes, but I guess we’ll just say that she has a unique coat.. as for her paws… I just forgot. Btw, her wings glow. I hope you like it, Heron! ~Moo
