✦||Queen Minerva||✦ (She/Her) Believe it or not, there was a time not so long ago at all where Minerva wasn't constantly looking over her shoulder, or hiding her face from the world.. Of course, all of that was before she became Queen. To begin with, Minerva was never intended to be the heir of Queen Decima. First it was her older brother Lucian, and after he tragically passed away when she was barely out of the egg it was her older sister, Anaconda. She's still not quite sure what happened to the previous crown princess before her, as she was only 7 when she was awoken by a small hoard of priests and council folk, and assimilated as the new Heir. Minerva did know a lot of things though. She knew that due to being the Heir, she got to spend a lot of time with her mother, Queen Decima, and that made her the luckiest out of her many siblings. Not because Decima intended to neglect her children, but because her duties kept her busy at all hours of the day and too-often far into the night. Despite that, Minerva did end up a tad bit arrogant due to her early knowledge of her throne-to-be, and that coupled with the attention she received from Decima made lots of her siblings very bitter of her, and most relations between them turned sour. There are a few exceptions like her little brothers Jay (Owned by @Grey_Do0dles) and Lionel, but other than that, she was not liked, and that's what pushed her to often times become antagonistic towards them. As the Heir, she was given countless tutors, mentored by countless members of the council and clergy, and shadowed Decima as she learned all of the million and one things that she needed to know to one day take her place... Though nothing could have prepared her for how sudden and how soon she was destined to take her mother's title. It was the night of a holiday about a year ago, and a gala that was meant to be a happy celebration turned into a bloody massacre, and the targeted mass was those who bled royal blood. Minerva had woken up in the Infirmary of the palace a week after, having been one of the first targeted due to her status as the heir, and one of the lucky ones that survived, though not without a cost. Her wings? Permanently paralyzed and immobile, unable to fly ever again, but that was the least of the painful blows. Her mother and father, Queen Decima and King Icarus? Dead. Many of her siblings that she had stupidly not formed any meaningful connections with? Dead. All from some Felnines that had tried to fell the Kingdom, and were never found. Minerva had no time to deal with her grief and trauma, immediately becoming Queen, and quickly thrown under the mountains of pressure that came with it. Minerva now is a lot more harsh than she used to be, dangerously short fuse and very prone to anger matched with crippling paranoia that causes her to overthink and spiral out of control. Most of the time she manages to keep her head and is a very strong leader of the kingdom, but also one of the most violent, cruel and unpredictable Aesirith has ever seen. She hides her face and body away, and is mostly not seen unmasked other than by her Wife Devika (Owned by @_-SunkenSoul-_), children, and brothers Lionel and Jay, who also thankfully survived the massacre and are the only Felnines in all of Etari who she bears any semblance to her old self with. Minerva is but a shell of her former self, riddled with self loathing, paranoia, hatred and unresolved trauma/grief that keeps her in constant turmoil. May this Felnine ever recover? Only time will tell, but for now, all hail the queen. ✦||Prince Aelius||✦ (He/They) Prince Aelius is the oldest child of Queen Minerva, and only in the past year since tragedy struck has he actually become crown prince. Of course, they'd had known for a very long time that he would one day be destined to rule the Kingdom, but it wasn't until his mother became Queen, and a pile of lessons and expectations had been pushed onto their plate had they actually started comprehending it and what it meant, and how terrified he was of it all. Aelius, in his sound opinion, is the very last Felnine who should be asked to be a King. His hatred for loud crowded spaces, their horrible social awareness and socialization skills, his inability to focus on and digest ANYTHING their tutors and mentors had tried to teach him. He is not fit for the crown he wears. Aelius prefers to be out and alone. No one to bother him, no one to try and touch or talk to him. They want to be hidden away in the royal library, out at a historical site studying places and objects of Aesirith's past, from fossils to ancient tombs, donating them to the Royal Museum. History is his passion, his life source. Where would they have the time for all of that should he become king?
