So the 3 friends met that night, careful not to get caught by, at 7PM, but sadly not sharp. I will let you guess who was the last to arrive. Hermione stood there twenty minutes early, with a notebook with their clue written in it, and a bag with multiple disguises in it. Harry and Ron, well… they did what they do best. Be late. The three friends stood before the entrance to Moaning Murtyle’s “lair”. “Wait - How do we know where the passageway is?” Asked Ron. -“Well, 'Hogwarts: A History' was written by Bathilda Bagshot, and she says: 'Just find me, and say, 'Dear writer please help, (…) through your secret passageway.' ' Since Mrs. Bagshot is the writer she talks about, she is somewhere and she has a secret passageway somehow. My guess is that it’s a statue. And… considering I’ve spent a lot of time in this bathroom, crying mostly, I just happen to know exactly where her statue is!” - “Is it just me or was that thought centered towards me?!” Thought Ron. - "Follow me," demanded Hermione. Harry and Ron glanced at each other then followed Hermione. The three friends arrived to the area behind the entrance to the chamber of secrets and to the right of the bathroom stalls. There stood an old lady with a square face, shaggy, old clothes, jet-white-from-age hair holding a book with the words "Hogwarts: A History" written on it. She was made of old, old stone, and a plaque that read: Bathilda Bagshot Author of "Hogwarts: A History" Hermione opened her notebook and read, "Dear writer please help, to change my dear frown into a crown, as I must learn my future and past, through your secret passageway." She looked up at the statue, but realized that nothing had changed. When she glanced back at where Ron and Harry stood, she only stared into nothingness and screamed. Suddenly, Hermione heard footsteps coming and a gruff, saggy voice. She hid behind Bathilda's statue. As she waited for the footsteps and voice to leave, she thought to herself about what had happened. The trio had been looking at the statue and then Hermione had said the chant from the book. Then, we she had turned back to Harry and Ron, they weren't there anymore. Hermione thought hard on everything she had learned in her previous years at Hogwarts. What could have made them get through the passage but not her? Or were they just playing tricks on her. Hermione put down her book and back and shifted her seating. Something had been hurting her back. She looked at it and realized it was a lever. Her heart started beating fast again. She cautiously pulled it down. At first, it seemed as though nothing had happened. However, after a few seconds, the floor opened and she began to fall.
