Bio: Names: Flickerkit, Flickerpaw, Flickerlight Family: Spoilers so no Gender: Female Backstory: Flickerkit was born and, before she knew who her parents were, was given to LightingClan. She became best friends with Snowykit, and she was apprenticed to Nightfrost. When Snowypaw ran off, Flickerpaw found her in the StormClan prison. Torrentflight offered Flickerpaw an elite apprenticeship, and when the spotted apprentice accepted, Violetstar took her out for her first elite apprenticeship lesson. I can't say the rest bc it'll spoil LP. WARNING: HUGE SPOILERS FOR LIGHTNINGCLAN'S PATH, AND cats catching prey. There's also some really sad parts in the scenes. Scene 1: "Flickerpaw, you are ready to become a warrior," Nightfrost's eyes shone with pride. "So you must pass your assessment." "Really?!" Flickerpaw's eye's lit up. Then she realized it was a hunting assessment. "Oh no..." Later that day, Flickerpaw stared at her catches. "One vole, two mice, oh StarClan, this isn't enough!" "Chitter!" A squirrel nibbled some nuts behind her. "Gotcha," Flickerpaw's eyes narrowed with determination. "One, two, three..." Then the squirrel said something in cat: "I AM S M U G." "Smug?!" Flickerpaw nearly yowled. This was the squirrel she'd chased halfway through LightningClan territory! This thing needed to be caught, or Flickerpaw would- S M U G squirrel ran away. Flickerpaw pursued it. Her chase ended at the StormClan border. S M U G crossed it. "Fox-dung!" she hissed. "I'm sorry, Flickerpaw," Nightfrost emerged from the bushes, sorrow in her eyes. "You failed." 'You failed,' The words rang through Flickerpaw's head. How had she failed? "It's okay," Flickerpaw tried to be cheerful and blinked back tears. "I wasn't ready, I guess." When Flickerpaw curled up into her nest, the tears came. She stayed there, sobbing. "Guess what?" Snowypaw exclaimed, trying to keep her pride out of her voice. "I PASSED!" Snowypaw's cheer was too much for Flickerpaw at the momment, but she said as casually as possible, "Great job." "AND I CAUGHT 3 MICE, ONE SHREW, AND A BIRD! A BIRD!" Snowypaw practically yowled. "Awesome," Flickerpaw croaked. "AND-" Snowypaw kept on bragging about all the prey she caught. Flickerpaw didn't pay attention. But then, Violetstar called the Clan meeting Flickerpaw had dreaded. "One of our apprentices is ready to become a warrior!" Violetstar announced. "One of them?" the Clan murmured. "Bet it was Flickerpaw." Flickerpaw shrank into the grass below her. How could she disappoint her Clan? Snowypaw looked between her best friend and her Clan leader. Only one of them was going to be a warrior? But... That meant Flickerpaw would stay an apprentice. But Snowypaw had waited moons for this day. She couldn't deny it now. "Snowypaw, from this moment on, you will be known as Snowyfall. StarClan honors your cheerfulness and pride." Cheerfulness? Pride? Those were the traits Snowyfall had? But what about her stubbornness, her urge to do what would break the rules? Those were traits the new warrior knew she'd had at some point. Did I... Outgrow them? Snowyfall wondered. She looked at her sad but cheerful friend. Flickerpaw deserved to have her warrior name cheered right at this second. But she didn't have her warrior name yet. That was very sad, and Snowyfall wouldn't even sleep in the same den as her. What do I do? She wondered. That night, Flickerpaw was full of anger. She'd caught lots of prey, and Nightfrost hadn't taught her much about hunting! That wasn't fair. Why should she be blamed for her mentor's mistake? She could see Snowyfall's pelt shining in the middle of camp. Flickerpaw thought she should also be a warrior, sitting next to her. If LightningClan didn't want her skills, she wouldn't let them go to waste. Flickerpaw thought about the other Clans. StormClan might take her, but she would never get the proper amount of attention she needed. She didn't know much about BrightClan, and she didn't know if she wanted to. Then, there was EclipseClan. Filckerpaw was good friends with some of their apprentices, and she knew a lot about their leader, Shadestar. Sunheart was their deputy, and he was always kind to her at Gatherings. I'll go there. Flickerpaw decided. I'll run away from LightningClan. Scene 2: "How do I do this?" Flickerpaw whispered. Snowyfall was a good guard, and Flickerpaw wouldn't be able to sneak past on her watch. I can try, Flickerpaw decided. She snuck past the cat who had been her best friend, the cat who she'd been closest to in LightningClan. "Good-bye, Snowyfall," Flickerpaw whispered. Grief struck her heart. She imagined the dreaded next morning, where Snowyfall would come and poke around in the apprentices' den, and Flickerpaw wouldn't be there. The confusion, grief, and worries would be in the new warrior's mind, and she would think that Flickerpaw had betrayed her. - Continued in notes and credits-
I am, Flickerpaw realized. But. But it was either Snowyfall was happy or Flickerpaw was. Flickerpaw, knowing it would make them both happy, chose herself. One day, LightningClan would forget her. She could act like she'd been in EclipseClan her whole life. That was what she would do. Snowyfall would get a mate, a new best friend, and kits, if she wanted. She could get an apprentice, she could be the deputy, Snowyfall could become the leader. Snowyfall had a long life ahead of her, and the sad part was that Flickerpaw didn't need to be in that life with her. "Hey!" Flickerpaw realized she'd crossed the border. Her good friend, Gingerpaw, was watching her from a tree. "What- Flickerpaw!" Gingerpaw jumped out of her tree. "What are you doing here?"
