(Tap for a size comparision) Looking like a cross between a lungfish and a crocodile, the Protigi is one of the most important animals. As life on land draws nearer and nearer, the Protigi is very much the shape of things to come, as the animal has odd adaptations that makes it unique from other animals of Typhon. Information ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Location(s): Individuals in phases 1 - 4 prefer to live in shallower waters. Phases 4 - 5 animals dominate at coral reefs. Endangerment level: 3/5 Diet: Carnivorous Prey: Anything they can reach. Role: Apex (Phase 4 - 5), Secondary predator (Phase 1 - 4) Lifespan: 25 years ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evolution ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evolved from Occisnare https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/695167847 Evolved to: IDK honestly Phases lived: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trivia (OPTIONAL) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In phases 4 and 5, the Protigi can reach an average length of 3 metres long and a maximum of 5.5 meters. Before those phases, it could only reach 45 cm long. Its teeth are similar to that of the Tiger Shark, allowing it to slice through meat with its powerful jaws. To help it hold onto food, the creature has two appendages like that of Anomalocaris that allows it to hold onto its prey. Unlike its descendants, the Protigi has barely changed throughout time. In fact, it is quite possible that the Protigi will dominate Typhon while barely changing overall. The Protigi has a rather interesting anatomy. The animal has a single lung and its fins are surprisingly strong. Meanwhile, the animal has an odd slimy substance covering its body called a coolant. This prevents the Protigi from getting too warm. When sea levels drop or the temperature rises, the Protigi will dig into the ground using its strong fins. It will then spin a cocoon made of mucus around itself (This also helps the animal cool down, and the mucus hardens in warmer temperatures) and will breath with its lung. Once the sea levels rise again (Or the temperature is temperate enough), it will break free of its cocoon and swim off. This makes the Protigi the ancestor of every land vertebrate.
