I really hate that scratch considers replacement words to be bad words. I do understand that the name I was trying to type was pretty close to a bad word, but it didn’t even occur to me that it was like one until I was trying to use the description to find the word that muted me. In my opinion, it’s ridiculous. Yes, the REAL bad words should be censored. No, replacement bad words should not. When I was seven, my parents were blasting Lizzo (if you don’t know who that is, you’re too young to talk to me). I don’t think that’s necessarily a good method, but I turned out just fine- in fact, I hardly ever use bad words (that’s partly because I want it to be a real slap in the face when I do, because I literally never cuss). I just think that Scratch could do a much better job with its censorship. They don’t even censor hell. I’m going to stop you right there- I know it’s a religious word, but it can still be used as a cuss word. Don’t give me that crap about discussing religion- I’m an atheist, and I’m seriously sick of those profiles that have a cross with words that say “put this on your profile if you’re not afraid to tell others you’re a christian”. If you do that, don’t be offended- I just think flashing around your religion isn’t something people should do. Don’t be ashamed of it, I just don’t want you to shove it in my face the second we start talking. There was an amazing bill board (can’t show it here, it was inappropriate for scratch), but it was so hilarious. I wish I’d gotten a picture. In fact, I’m going to look it up right now. I’ve kind of gotten off topic, so I’ll just end with this- Scratch is really driving a lot of it’s users away. I’ll still be using it, due to not being able to find any other RP sites + having some good friends here that I’d miss, but one day they’ll take it a step too far and I’ll vanish without saying goodbye. I’ll still be contactable (I’ve left information for accounts on other sites to contact me through), but Scratch will probably remove it because they don’t want other sites mentioned here. I’m not leaving (YET), but Scratch is seriously making me consider it.
