Que the puns. Space to advance. My English teacher assigned a project where we had to do one of the scenes from Act 1 of Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing' ((Which is an amazing play, read it, please.)) as a comic. As you know I prefer to draw cats to humans ((most of the time)) but I was too nervous to ask if we could. Luckily another girl asked instead. cx This is the scene where Claudio tells Benedick about his love for the maiden Hero. Benedick is known to detest women and claims them all to be cheats and would never want to tie himself down. He is very witty and is always getting into sass battles with Beatrice who thinks the same way he does about men. So anyway, I will write out the dialogue because my handwriting sucks and you probably wont be able to read it. cx Panel 1: C: Benedick, did you notice Signor Leonato's daughter? B: I saw her but I didn't notice her. Panel 2: C: Isn't she a well-mannered young lady? Panel 3: B: Sigh... Do you want my honest opinion? Or do you want me to criticize her like I do all women? Panel4: No, I pray thee, speak seriously. Panel 5: B: Ugh, if you insist. Well, it seems to me... Panel 6: B: ...she is to short to be praised highly, too dark to be praised fairly, and too small to be praised greatly. Panel 7: B: I can only say this about her: If she looked any different than she does she would be ugly, Panel 8: B: and since she can't be anything but herself, I don't like her. I also want to confess that I wimped out and used the SparkNotes version because I didn't want to write so much sorry!! ;o; I also have a special connection with Claudio because I get to voice him when we are reading in class. #FavoriteCharacter *cough*alsoimightmakethisawebcomic*cough*
