Instructions

This is just a little mock-up since most of the content for the Donkey Kong Country series has been made for SSBG. The Instructions include the details and some notes on DKC's development like cut content, and the Notes and Credit credit those involved. Series: Donkey Kong Country Fighter: Donkey Kong Stages: Bramble Scramble Music: - Water World (Drawn&Quartered) [Plays on this stage AND Jolly Roger Bay] - Mining Melancholy (GaMetal) - Bayou Boogie (Burning Idol) - Stickerbush Symphony (Version 1 - NANI_Studios) - Stickerbush Symphony (Version 2 - DSC) Spritesheets: https://www.deviantart.com/pixel9bit/art/MLSS-Donkey-Kong-Sprites-Sheet-201406934br https://www.deviantart.com/pixel9bit/art/MLSS-Animal-Buddies-Sprites-Sheet-284513305 https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/877968012/ Notes: - DKC's series appearance here is heavily inspired by Donkey Kong Country 2. Bramble Scramble and the DKC2 inspired music is evident of this. - Originally Diddy & Dixie were meant to be a Ice Climbers esc duo, but they were cut due to technical, size limitation and other reasons. - Some music tracks from the Country series that would have gotten remixes in this game that didn't include Hot Head Bop and In-a-Snow-Bound-Land. - I tried avoiding the stereotypical "Big Ape Jungle Jape Gangplank" representation of Donkey Kong Country within SSBG- I hope the Country fans enjoy this revitalisation. - Donkey Kong is aimed to be reimagined in this game to be more accurate to his series. His physicals may remain the same, but his specials may include the Coconut Gun (Neutral), Barrel Cannon (Recovery) and Rambi (Side) [Down stays the same]. Whether or not the other Kongs or animal buddies show up in his moveset is debatable. - DK's victory theme is the opening RareWare march sound as heard in DKC2. - Stickerbush Symphony is the only track in the game to have multiple remixes; hence why there are 'V1-3'. Additionally, Donkey Kong Country has one of the highest music counts in the game if you include the multiple version of Stickerbush- the most I believe excluding the Super Mario series umbrella and the Super Smash Bros. series. Regardless of Stickerbush, DKC is still in the top 5 for music count. - Stickerbush Symphony is one of the instances where my bias shines through a bit too much. Whilst Yo-Kai Watch, No More Heroes and Dragon Ball Z all got in out of bias, their inclusions feel tame or relative to the popularity of those series. Stickerbush is too far even for my standards, but I'm cool with it. I mean, DKC2 is my third favourite video game ever, and Stickerbush is my favourite song ever, so you can't really blame a man lol. Considering how the only ones I love more are getting stages since they didn't appear in SSBU... yeah, this is one of those personal bias moments I let shine through. - A little fun fact / history lesson: Water World was well regarded as one of the very few tracks in DKC3 that was to the standard of the better tracks in DKC1 and pretty much everything in DKC2. The soundtrack was completely redone in the port for DKC3 on GBA (and only for DKC3), and it was actually really good. Water World GBA would go on to be a remix of Aquatic Ambience, despite the naming convention. This remix is one of the very few things in this game to represent the DKC series without appearing in DKC2.
