He was created by Gaster before he died and knows more than most about the alternate realities, and this knowledge has made him aware that the world he currently lives in isn't the original Undertale world. Despite being aware of these things, he still tries to keep positive and friendly. and acting as a sort of an anti-hero because he looks up to Nightmare!Sans just because his negative aura makes Nexus happy.. for some reason.
