Hello everyone! This is my 1st ever CC! I let this out very early, so yes, I know, it's only November, but I wanted to give you guys time to finish. Press space to see some examples! And if you're smart, you'll read ALL the rules and tips. _________________________________________________________ RULES: - Be nice to everyone entering. Most people will work pretty hard on their's, and while their good effort may not be AS good as yours, they tried hard. This includes you. I don't want to see anything in your project saying "wow this is horrible" or anything like that. Give yourself some credit. - I'd prefer you did a little more than use the fill bucket. Put a little more effort into it, give your kitten a pattern! - I'm sorry that I used a different program to make this. That being said, if you just fill-bucket it, it has white dots, and lots of them. It would be much more appealing if you colored those dots. - The contest ends on Christmas, December 25th. Any entries done after that will not be counted. - Remix to enter. I can't count it if it's not on the remix page. - If you don't win, PLEASE don't whine or be a bad sport. The winners put hard work into their entries, and deserve it. On that topic, if you DO happen to win, no bragging. The people who are being good sports don't need to feel bad about their entries. - MUST be Scratch appropriate. And good for ALL ages. Check out the Scratch Guidelines to see what I mean: https://scratch.mit.edu/community_guidelines/ - Please no blood or gore. I mean seriously, this is a Christmas CC. - Creativeness is key! The same old red hat, brown cat thing will get old. Make it unique! - You do not need to ask to enter. - Don't link me to your project. If you remixed, like you were supposed to, I have already gotten a notification. It's just spam. - Tracing will be accepted, but it has to be recognizable as the same pose and design. - Please don't change the song, unless it works a lot better with your entry. Alternate versions of the music are cool, I'd love that! - One entry per person. I will only count your first one unless you redo. - Have some fun with this! What's the point of entering if it's dragging you down? - If you don't follow these rules (at least the very strict and important ones) I will most likely disqualify you. Please listen to them. ________________________________________________________ TIPS: Note that these are not requirements. These are tips that will boost your likeliness of winning. - Shade! It looks super good if you do! - Use another program! They have so much more colors and tools you can use to make your entry stand out! - Animate! I love when people put a little twist to CC's. It looks REALLY good, and shows you really put time into it. - Add some detail and texture! This also shows you put a lot of time into it, Plus, it's SO much more appealing to the eye. - Add some cool effects! These include every tip before this, but please don't go overboard. People sometimes do that, and it gets really hard to look at. ________________________________________________________ OTHER PROGRAMS: I've seen people being horrible sports and whining about how people won just because they used a different program. First of all, using a different program looks so much better, so they won for a reason. Second, everyone has access to some programs. For example, there's programs ON SITES that are free to use such as Pixlr.com and Kleki.com, which require no download. And there's a program that I love and use called FireAlpaca, and although you have to download it, it's free and has no viruses as long as you get it off the official site. ________________________________________________________ EXAMPLES: Bad Example: I clearly put no work into this. I used a fill bucket and didn't even fill in the white spots. The colors aren't at all realistic, and clash. They don't contribute to the piece. I seriously NEVER want to see an entry like this. So you can pretty much count yourself out if you do this. Okay Example: I put a bit of work into this. This will be what almost everyone's will be quality wise, based on what I've seen in other CC's. I like this. But it has no shading, and is kinda bland. There's no designs on the cat, no patterns on the box, so I'd prefer you try a bit harder. Even in Scratch you can do better than this. Good Example: This has shading, a decent background, and a warm look! This is what I want to see more of. I didn't put a great example, and this is because I want YOU to show me what a great example is. There are going to be people that do WAY better than the good example (I hope XD), and that's what I want! Well, I'm really excited about this CC.
