The Kid's Online Safety Act bill is a bill that will ruin lives. LGBTQ+ youth will be endangered by homophobic parents. Furries who haven't told their parents could also be ruined, this is my situation. For a brief explanation, this bill will allow the government to censor content freely. Everything that isn't explicitly educational to kids will be censored, and the government will allow parents to read everything their kids do on the internet. This includes DMs, social media posts, and other things. This directly violates the First and Fourth Amendments. Join me and so many other kids in the fight against this bill. You can contact your local government people (i forgot what they were called) or sign petitions on sites like change.org. We must stop this bill before it affects all of the United States, and possibly other countries. I've read that local TikTok users have threatened to off themselves if this bill gets passed country-wide. The internet is a crucial tool for all people, minors and adults alike. This won't just affect kids, this will also affect adults who are simply just surfing the web. You will be required to have a government I.D. just to access some websites and confirm age.
