/splish… splish/ At last, after a lengthy helicopter ride through dozens of jagged mountain peaks, the time for your interview has arrived. The bitterly cold air bites at your exposed face and neck, but the rest of you is submerged within a beautiful alpine hot spring, though whether or not it is natural you cannot tell. You are alone, spare for a few cameramen and your pilot, and the silence is only interrupted by the soft burbling of the spring and the whistling of the mountain breeze. /splish/ The spring is jarringly hot, and you can feel your flesh struggling to acclimate to the heat. Your extremities tingle. Inhaling sharply, you perk your ears. You are surrounded by lush greenery, the wind buffeting the tree’s leaves as they drift down into the water beside you. Flecks of frost cover their leaves. You are reminded of your loved ones- your district. /plink/ A leaf falls down beside you. You are reminded of your mortality. /swash…swash/ You wade towards the middle of the pool, where a gentle whirlpool’s vortex swirls. As the pool gently laps against the stone, you can make out a shimmering bubble of fresh air, large and distorted by its ascent, emerging from the milky blue depths. It floats delicately atop the water for a brief moment, then pops, revealing- somehow- a question within. How will you choose to answer?
