Instructions

Behold! An online, mobile friendly, interactive D&D character sheet for anyone who doesn’t want to keep track of a real one, can’t or doesn’t want to print it, or is unable to get a true character sheet for any other reason. Although this work-in-progress doesn’t look anything like the physical D&D sheet, it will keep track of everything that a regular character sheet keeps track of(eventually), and even has some bonus D&D features, such as virtual dice and a page to draw characters(eventually). Another thing that this sheet does is auto-calculate some of the numbers; the mods for all of the character sheets will be auto calculated by the program, as will a few other things(eventually).

Description

Credits Ah, isn’t it nice when you don’t have to acknowledge anyone for helping in any way? Then again, not having anyone in the credits seems a tad eccentric. I guess I’ll reluctantly give credit to Wizards of the Coast(the company who makes D&D) for inspiring me to make a D&D based project. Notes I’m making this mostly for myself, so I released it unfinished; I’m not really hoping that it gets a lot of views. That being said, there might be a lot of bugs as I’m working things out, and although the project will always be available it may not alway work properly. Does anyone care about my struggles? Well, if they do, then here’s my list; It starts off with the fact that this entire project, as well as my recent game, CircleMania, was coded on a mobile device. It goes downhill from there. Now, Wizards of the Coast created ability scores without any sort of mathematical rule that one could use to…oh, I don’t know…create self-calculating ability score mods on Scratch? Thus, one must spend at least an hour on the repetitive screen process of creating a program that identifies an ability score as a string rather than a number. Excuse me a second as I scream while reliving the excruciating details of such boredom. And of course no large project can go without accidentally deleting that entire code that one spent an hour on. Thus, that process just to create the second page of the project must take two hours. Two hours that cannot go without raging and banging one’s head against one’s wall. And of course there are bugs. Not just in one’s program, but in the mobile device’s typing feature. Such a bug would, of course, disable one’s ability to type for more than two days, which would, of course, create a bug in one’s code that, of course, causes a two-day detour in time. And to wrap things up, my scripts keep randomly shrinking and being deleted before I can place them. Thank you for caring, and check out Press your Luck…a lot if you have too much time on your hands.
