There was a slight blow of wind across the lands of Dark Village, like a sigh coming from the nature of destroyed land. It had been like this for almost 20 years now- and it had left all the people of the land in absolute shambles, as they tried slowly but surely to restore it. Though there wasn't much to do about it, they tried, and they tried hard. "I'm tired of all your groaning!" Calliope complained, sitting down on the vintage leather couch with a roll of her eyes. Her blonde hair was pulled into a bun, and she was wearing lazy clothing. Her sharp green eyes glanced up at Brian, almost expectantly. The bulky man looked up. "What, am I supposed to apologize?" he asked, taking a swig of his water from a random waterbottle he had found on the ground of the loft. If there's something you must know, it is that 'Dark Village' isn't an old time-y village. It's a modern town- or, kingdom, from that matter. Everything is futuristic, everything but the way they run the kingdom. Brian looked at Calliope, a smile forming on his face. "What are you looking like that at me for? You know I can't take it when you do that," Brian mused, snorting. Calliope, or Callie, rolled her eyes. She grabbed a book, opening it to the bookmarked page. "I know you can't take it," she stated, "That's why I do it." Brian looked at her with an unamused look, and moments after, the doorbell rang. Callie looked up from her book, just before Brian yelled, "I'll get it!" When Brian opened the door, it was Lisbeth. Lis, Callie's best friend. Callie hopped up, the book closing without a bookmark. Lis hugged Callie, and was smiling. "Guys, you won't believe what I just heard!" Lis exclaimed, looking back and forth between Callie and Brian. "What is it?" Brian asked, looking curiously at Lis. "Well," Lis started, "They're stopping the mayor system! But, the reason why isn't quite as happy." She looked at Callie, who was excited. "Wait," Brian said, "Why *are* they stopping the mayor system?" When Brian asked this, Lis's smile faded a bit, as well as Callie's. Lis looked at them both again, this time her face was fully serious. "I think you know why." Callie groaned, plopping herself back onto the couch. "No way that that stupid rat of a man is causing all this trouble!" she exclaimed, kicking a pillow off the comfortable couch. Lis sat next to her, nodding. Brian followed soon after, sitting down next to Lis. "It's so dumb that someone so meek could be causing all this trouble," He mumbled, his low voice making the mumble barely audible. The trio sat silent for a couple minutes, all taking the intense emotions in. Brian looked at the TV, turning it on. "Might as well watch some cartoons," he sighed, flipping through the channels, when it landed on the news channel. There was an intense windstorm, and there was people running around everywhere. But soon enough, the news changed, changed to Dark Village. "Run over by Nick, the so called 'hero'. Dark Village ends their mayor system, and puts everyone in house-isolation as they try and find the hideout of this so called 'Nick', who is m.rdering the public because they 'did something wrong'. Get more information on this at 7:00 PM, EST." Callie sighed. "Poor Declan," she said, glancing down at the floor. Meanwhile... Nick popped open the top to the coke. "I don't understand why people think I'm doing such a bad job! Just look at how just and fair this place has become because all these people are gone now," Nick was rambling to Declan, his younger brother. Declan didn't know what to say, after all, Nick was 23 years old, and Declan was just 12. There was a major gap in the ages, and Declan had no experience in m.rdering people because it was 'right'. Nick sighed, taking a sip of his coke. Declan just stayed quiet, looking at the ground, his eyes were clouded as he was zoned out. Nick often ranted to him about this topic, then would go find Lisbeth, his so called 'friend', and would rant to her some more. Declan just knew that Ata, Brian, and Calliope would absolutely not listen to Nick and hated him. Well, most people did. Declan soon looked up at his older brother, "You know I have to go home soon, right? I can't just sit here and listen to you have problems all day. I want to go *do* something!" he groaned, and Nick eyed his threateningly. Another thing to know about the brothers: Nick was 'in control'. He had say over whatever Declan did, said, or even wanted to do. It was terrible. "I don't care if you want to do something, your problems don't matter," Nick sneered, flicking the bottle cap at Declan, crossing his legs on the ottoman that matched his modern couch. Nick looked at Declan again, and Declan stormed off. "Gosh, I hate being your brother! You do nothing for me!" he grumbled, heading up the stairs towards the rooms.
