The Marretime Launcher 557 was specially built to fill in the purpose of mobile medium caliber artillery, phasing out old towed artillery designs and many self propelled medium caliber ones as well. It itself fires an 150 MM HE shell as the standard, able to blast through most armour and things considered. However, it cannot fire on the move, and must anchor itself to the floor, via the stump spiked pistons on each of the four legs, firmly securing it in place to fire shells at it. It moves on its own, with diesel engine on bottom, and fuel tank on top of it providing decent fuel coverage. It is also noted that while not armoured, the nature of these artillery platforms being so high permits them to be both a large and hard to hit target. Itself is longe range artillery with mediumly sized shells, with a minimal crew requirement of two, both operating the gun while firing, or maintaining level and moving without issue. The long legs also allow it to move through bogs, swamps, deserts, snow, and other things with some ease, but not the most. It is often seen with support companies alongside it for necessity of safety. It can also be found near front lines of active war zones, often heard moving around at night to fire from more advantageous spots. 150 MM HE shells are the standard, but certain crews and ML-557's have incendiary, chemical, biological, small scale tactical nuclear, and fortification piercing shells, being used in highly specific scenarios of war, such as trenches, to break stalemates. To clarify, this design was made by the Multiversal Valkris Almagamate, and not terrestrial nor early space faring lost splinters of the VA.
