Loyalty - A Comic by Dusk ========= Edit: in case you didn’t know, i changed the title of the comic. Sorry for this very unexpected move where I have a hamlet moment Also because (foreshadowing if you've only just arrived) it's a totally ironic title and I love it irony ========= GUYS I AM BEGGING YOU I trust you guys to do this BUT PLEASE NAG ME if I spend too long working on the next post for the comic (It should be posted at the most on the 26th of July. 2023.) ========= Section: Prologue Next: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/874826771/ Previous: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/873332021/ First: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/873332021/ ========= Press space or click to navigate through the pages, or you can use the arrow buttons Fullscreen HIGHLY RECOMMENDED If you're having trouble reading the text there's a transcript at the bottom of the notes and credits ========= Hihi welcoming to my unhealthy story dump I guess. So here's the prologue. In which I show off my terrible paneling skills (where there is so little dialogue on one page it's pathetic) also on a completely unrelated note I am going to probably post my quartet composition on here before the next chapter is out so uh yeahhhhhh ========= Feel free to post reactions, theories, or fanart (there is art with the unfiltered version of the character designs at the end of the prologue with the actual colours), and you may remix so long as you change something. ========= Summary: The Prince and the King argue about the banishment of a court advisor (who was a close friend of the prince), whom, the king thinks has been controlling the kingdom's trade routes (and thus economy) too much. ========= Characters: Prince Harle (pronounced Harl-lay) The King Various attendants (non-speaking parts) ========= Fun fact: Wondering why there so much difference between the king and the prince's attire? well that's because the king's in his nightgown. ========= That is all! The next section should be out in about 2 weeks, in which you'll meet our main characters I'm also working on a lot of other things at once (including the script), so delay may be possible ========= personal statistics for this section: drafted twice with additional minor edits to the dialogue ========= Yes. I did go with a different artstyle than normal. I felt like it would've taken too long to get everything right if it was in my normal style. Also the prologue was originally intended to be in black and white, but after I filtered it I felt like it just didn't capture the mood or atmosphere of the scene anymore =========

Description

Art, plot and characters belong to me though as you'll find out soon I DID sneak an allusion (as by the two main characters' names) I'm very sorry about the very plain thumbnail. I have no idea what to do for a cover so here it is. Also the art. I wasn't expecting it to take so long. I didn't have any ideas for the throne room so I kinda just went with what my brain decided spontaneously haha 16th century attire is so fun to drawww Pinglist (may reset for each release): @Idontknow789464786 @Shellshine @ani101116 @iTzAm0tH @dragonzandcobraz Transcript: Prince: Father, please- King: I had a good reason for banishing him. Prince: He was of good intent! Don’t you see how the trade route blockade could result in- King: He was overly ambitious and controlling. We can’t keep him in court. Prince: But you didn’t have to banish him! King: I’ve already stated this, I have my reasons. Prince: Father- King: Go to. I will hear no more of this. Prince: So, you’ve made up your mind. Prince: I accept your verdict. King: Take him to his bedroom. King (thinking): I fear for the worst. My son grows more ill-tempered every day. This cannot last, and if it does- Nothing good will come of it.
