His father was a SkyWing royal named Prince Lightning. His mother, a NightWing animus named Dreamcatcher, had been on her way to the library where she worked when she saw Lightning. The two grew closer and stayed together until Painite was 2. When Lightning learned Dreamcatcher was an Animus, he was disgusted and left. Painite never saw his father again. Painite discovered at the age of 6 he had his mother's magic.
