This is it-- We're in the final stretch!!! Let me go over the "script details" for the event so that everything is clear: -Before this event can take place, the Prologue chain must be finished! I've been in contact with everyone so we'll be able to reach the end in time. It's almost done! -The start date I have in mind is FRIDAY, JULY 14! It will go on for exactly one week! Signups will be open likely starting the weekend before, with the end date for signups being July 12th at midnight EST time. (I think I'll need a day to get everything prepared) -Reminder that the RP STUDIO WILL BE CLOSED during this time (when signups close), and will reopen when the event ends. If you aren't signed up for the event you won't be able to RP in PotHS at all for a week unfortunately... :'> All continuing chains from before the studio closed must include "PAST" along with the name of the person(s) you are continuing with (ex: Cont. RP with @Pikakit; PAST) These chains can not reference anything from the Dark Event, including any plot-relevant reveals, since they were taking place before the Dark Event. -The only major plot/story element taking place other than the Dark Event itself will be wherever Mist is! It will be too chaotic for anyone in the chain to notice her, but the resolution of her mini "solo arc" will affect everyone in RPs going forward (even those who didn't participate)! The end of the event will have an announcement that will make things clearer regarding this. -On a related note... try to avoid using the Dark Event to give your characters development in a way that steals the spotlight from everyone else in the chain. It's not fair to them and it's not fair to your character since their defining moments will be overshadowed by all the chaos happening around them. Mist is the exception since the events surrounding her will have a direct effect on the plot. (Apologies to the other people who will be in that chain since for a while I may not be as present to RP with as you'd like...) If they've been affected following the events of the Dark Event and you want to highlight that and go more in depth in a future chain though? Absolutely okay. -There will ideally be 6-8 people in each RP chain! 5 is the absolute minimum. Per the results of the practice run, this seems to be a good number for making things a bit disorienting without being too overwhelming. -As discussed earlier, up to 4 characters can be signed up for the Dark Event! NPCs and characters who aren't signed up can make brief cameos, but they can't be actively involved in the majority of your character actions. Up to two of the characters that are signed up can share the same chain. (So you could place each character in different regions, in the same regions but in different areas/RP chains, or have two in the same Forest chain and two in the same Desert chain, for example) You can also choose to use fewer than four characters if you'd like. -Character designs for hybrids must be original or those characters won't be allowed in the event, unfortunately. (Reminder we have this studio if you need original character designs/redesigns: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/6257896/ ) -To help ensure that motivation/energy levels for people are matched as best as possible, I'll be including in the signups for people to state their preference when it comes to activity level (For example: People with a high activity level would be checking up on their chains at least once every 30min-1hr [barring time to sleep] and posting frequent responses) ***ALL LIGHT POKÉMON WILL BE STRUGGLING. Some may be worse off than others, but all of them will be weakened and feeling some level of strain by the darkened atmosphere, including the Keys. If your light Pokémon is acting perfectly fine and fighting at their normal strength during the event, that is against the rules. This is one of the things I will be looking out for especially when moderating. -Another thing I want to make clear is that though characters can be injured there will be NO KILLING of either RP characters or onscreen NPCs. Despite dark Pokémon wreaking havoc and causing all sorts of strife for the light Pokémon, this is a children's website and some people are more sensitive than others.
