Let me get this out of the way before I start the review in case I do references to this fact. My favorite Indiana Jones movie is Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (I know, how dare I). So, Dial of Destiny, really good. The movie never threw anything out of nowhere. The characters were really well written and they even kept the pattern of the villain causing their own downfall. It also references the other movies quite a bit, but Temple of Doom is referenced the most. The action scenes were fun to watch, and the emotional beats didn’t feel forced, which is a big problem in most modern movies. Overall, this movie was a great end for everybody’s favorite archeologist, at least until Disney wants more money. Not much else I can say without spoiling the movie. Soooo… end of non-spoiler section. WARNING: Spoilers Ahead! How many times does Antonio Banderas have to die in modern movies? Movie studios are obsessed with it and it’s starting to get concerning. Also, why didn’t they bring the Antikythera to that warehouse that the Ark and the skull were in? The item can tell people how to change the course of history, yet they just keep it/bring it to a museum. They didn’t really specify which thing they did. I do not hate the movie because of this, it’s just something I thought I would bring up. I hope they make Lego sets of the movie.
