From today's up and coming broadcast, NBC Nightly News (with Lester Holt) is changing its logo to coincide with NBC's new logo from December last year and the 75th anniversary of the first incarnation of NBC Television News, the NBC Television Newsreel, which started in 1948. This later become Today's News Today (1949), the Huntley-Brinkley report (1956) and the present-day NBC Nightly News (1970 onwards) The logo saw the first time a serif font was not used since 1999. The squashed text (meant to match NBC's wordmark) reminds some people at a certain age of the 1994 look, used all the way until 1999. But another important thing is their new symbol, something that they have never used since 2016. Previously it was two squares, each with an N on it. Making "NN", the bulletin's initials. Now, it's still the two Ns but overlap with each other, with the peacock in the middle. (press space to see it) Of course, there's no intro yet, it's not really night in America as far as I know. But, if anyone can record the new logo in action I'll be grateful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ NBC
