. d t i y s e click, space bar, or arrow keys to proceed i FINALLY got the motivation to post this drawing. i’ve been working on it on and off for probably over a week, and i spent quite a long time on it as well, IT TOOK EIGHT HOURS I’M CRYING WHAT it’s like the longest time i’ve spent on a digital piece- this was my first fully-rendered drawing on procreate, so i was experimenting a lot with it. the art itself is somewhat old, i kept building on it and updating it to fit my standards ^^ (yes, this is the piece i mentioned in previous projects) i took lots of screenshots, so i’m just going to do a mini art process :)) 1 - rough sketch ミ☆ i usually roughly outline what i want to draw, i didn’t add the main details (except for the hair and facial features) as that would be too messy. you can kind of see my anatomy guidelines if you look hard enough. in my art, i don’t usually trace over the sketch and make lineart—i just clean up my sketch, i don’t like doing inking that much ahaha 2 - starting flat colors + added bg ミ☆ as you can see, i refined the sketch and added the cat and a background. i really struggle with drawing backgrounds and animals, so this was kind of hard for me. i do like how it turned out so far, though—i was shocked that i could actually draw furniture :’0 flat colors/base colors are just the colors but without any shading, so you can clearly see what colors you have. 3 - rendering on girl ミ☆ idk what i did here, i just colored all of the things on the girl and shaded it a little, not much to say. 4 - finished coloring ミ☆ the colors are very messy here, but i finished and figured out that it would be too messy for my final entry, so i decided to change it a bit with my next step—overpainting. this is basically coloring over the lineart to refine lines, and it also was the longest part of the process ^^ 5 - final ミ☆ i added some backlighting to make the girl stand out more, even though it doesn’t make that much sense haha. i also blurred my (ugly) background a little so the girl and cat could be more in focus. 6 - final (w/ filters) ミ☆ i prefer this version, i went kind of crazy with all the filters that procreate has lol. i was happy with it until i realized that i didn’t add a watermark yet and had to rush and add it haha- 7 - close up 8 - time taken ミ☆ yeah, so here’s definite proof that i did spend eight hours on this piece *pained laughter* ok, that’s all for now! ^^ i actually started completing my owed art trades, so expect that soon. see you in the next project :) ──── ✩ ──── art ⋆ @gh0stwriter contest ⋆ @cloudii-moon music ⋆ from og project some tags - #art #games #digitalart #contest #dtiyse #aesthetic #cat #girl
