Hold shift while clicking the green flag to turn on turbo mode. It'll keep the game from lagging. If you’re on mobile, click ‘see inside’, then ‘edit’, and then ‘turn on turbo mode’. Only spawn critters when paused and on the welcome/round end screen! It can and will break if you don't. Additionally, Scratch will only allow 301 critters at once; don’t spawn more if you’re close to that limit. They’ll spawn a friend if they turn blue, and exceeding 301 critters breaks the game. Critters will tell you their current hunger value and the action they just took if you click on them. Clicking the flag will reset everything.
