Which was when the package came. In a solid brown packaging. No address, no return address. Astra ripped open the packaging, not thinking twice. She was met with a shimmering cover, embellished with at least 10 precious jewels. An emerald bigger than her eye was the centerpiece, with the other jewels in a design around it. "What is this?" She breathed, gently skimming a hand over it, nervous to touch. She checked to see no one was around, then opened it. "What the-" She exclaimed. In the book was a picture of... her... reading it. She flipped a page. It was her lying in her bed, sobbing. She gasped. This was the day after her grandfather passed. Unshed tears still brimmed in her eyes. She flipped to another page. It was her running... in the rain. "Wait- I don't remember that..." Something dawned on her. This book could see the future... Suddenly, she heard a crash, similar to the one she had heard Laiya make. "Laiya?" She called. No response. "Hello little girl." She heard a creepy voice say. "Did you receive any old books with jeweled covers lately?" The voice was definitely male. Astra squeaked. What would she do?
