Japan's first true light support weapon, firing the same weak 6.5mm Arisaka round as the Type 38 rifle and loaded with the same 5-round clips. The rounds are stripped from the first clip loaded into the 30-round hopper and fed into the chamber as such. The weapon comes with a cartridge oiler to prevent stovepiping and the cartridge case from becoming lodged in the ejector port.

Side note: The Taisho 11 was introduced in the 11th year of Emperor Taisho's reign in Japan (1922), hence the naming. Empty clips were thrown aside by an automated mechanism which also allows the next clip to drop into place as the weapon was being fired. the short barrel of the weapon meant that it produced too bright of a muzzle flash and the 6.5mm Genso round had to be developed for it, greatly dimming the flash and reducing its signature, which may be used as a telltale sign of a soldier being present during a stealth mission.
