you see cyro status pods with remaining crewmen, you find out that the ship seems to have high tech that you dont have like a Precision laser embedded in the deflector, you realize that you can use the ship as a prototype of the new ship class, what do you do? if you don't plant the bombs, you can save the ship and recruit the remaining crew, you could use them to figure out what happened to the rest of the crew, adding more men to your army or just lose all of it in a blast.
