Thanks for letting me enter! (This is an old picture) Okay, so I finally made a backstory for these two characters. The female's name is Kiku, and the male's name is Haruto. Haruto saved Kiku after she had run away from the group of strays she had been living with. (These cats live in a world that is just magical cats and normal cats, no humans, so by stray I mean homeless). It was storming, plus the fact that Kiku had been injured by some of the cats in the group, so it wasn't long before she collapsed. She lived in a city that was surrounded by mountains, so by now she was far into the woods. Little did she know, Haruto and some other demon cats lived in these woods. Haruto had been out hunting, and found her laying in a pile of rotting leaves. At first he thought she was dead, and was going to just leave her there. But then Kiku stirred, and he realized that she was still alive. Now, the magical cats and demon cats were enemies, as demon cats tended to feed off of the magical cats's energy and leave them to die. This is what Haruto knew he should do, but he didn't want to. Instead, he saved her and they ran away to the mountains, where he healed her and they slowly became friends. Kiku told Haruto all her secrets, how she had gotten with the strays in the first place, and things about her family she wouldn't have told anyone else. Haruto did the same. It turns out that Kiku had gotten in the pack because unlike her parents and sister, Kiku didn't have any magical abilities. The only strange thing about her was her pink coat. The cats in the group had abused her, but they had also kept her alive. If she had stayed with her parents, they probably would of killed her. It was a common practice, killing the non-magic cats. Lots of the wealthier families did it, because they didn't want a non-magic cat as part of their bloodline. So, knowing that her sister was to be killed, Kiku's sister, Aiko, helped her escape the night after her 13th birthday. On the cats's 13th birthday was when they earned their powers, but, of course, Kiku hadn't gotten any. So she ran away. Haruto's story was a bit different. He also was from a pretty well-known family, but he had earned especially involved powers. His bloodline was traditionally know for their powers of fire, but Haruto got the powers of shadows and fire. Shadow powers were very rare, and Haruto gained a very high status for having these, and also for having double element powers. He was going to be the leader one day. But Haruto didn't want any of this. He didn't want to lead a clan of cats whose only goal in life was to maim and hurt others. He didn't want to feed off of the souls of innocent creatures to develop his powers and stay alive. For a while, he was on the brink of death. Then his parents just decided to feel him mice, and other animals that normal cats would usually eat. He feed off of these animals until he was ten, when he finally realized he needed more sustenance. Haruto only then started feeding off of other cats souls, and bigger animals like bears. But would never forgive himself for that. Eventually their friendship became something more. Up in those freezing mountains, a love radiated warmth. Until, one day, something happened that would change their lives forever...
