Instructions

Burnout, it's a awful feeling you can get when you push yourself too far, a feeling of overwhelming exhaustion (emotionally, mentally or physically) from doing a task, it can happen anywhere, from anything (including something you love!) Usually I experience burnout when I can feel my motivation/emotional stability levels are near depleted but I force myself to work more, sometimes it's for image (like how people view me, think of me/perceive me) sometimes it's just because I'm too darned stubborn to freaking quit, and it's hard, I love art but burnout has made me hate it before... and the sad thing is.. so many people end up dealing with it, especially I've seen it here, where the larger group of members are younger, below the age of 14, due to this they usually don't know where their limits and such are, and sometimes even when finding said limits they continue to push, assuming that they were just tired and not thinking too much of it.. burnout sometimes can be mellow, but when I usually get it, it hits hard, I can be out for weeks, just not wanting to do my hobbies and favorites things... so, I decided I would try to at least give a small bit of advice on this topic (and keep in mind, I'm probably gonna be horrid at this, I don't feel like I do very good at explaining things but we're gonna go anyways!) A way I tend to get burned out, is tasks, making my hobby of art seem too... job like, I mean perhaps it could be a job in the future? But for now it's just a silly hobby, so if you can, do definitely try to limit the tasks you have, don't overload yourself with lots of art requests just for people to like your projects (trust me, I know this from experience, plenty of people who ask for art requests hardly ever interact further than getting their free art...) I mean if you enjoy drawing for others then by all means, go for it... just take it slow, take a few requests at a time, same with projects like map parts, don't take on a lot at once, you're going to feel overwhelmed and stressed as you rush to get them done within a certain amount of time! Another way to ease stress, in between doing assigned tasks (either from yourself or others) just draw what you want, for instance if you feel like just opening up a sketchbook/art app and drawing whatever comes to mind... well do it! If you pull yourself away from drawing what you want to keep doing work tasks you're going to burn yourself out! And another thing! BOUNDARIES! If you just say yes to every single request and such, you're going to perhaps be well known sure... but not in a good way for your mental health, if you are a push-over (or people pleaser to use a slightly nicer term) people can, AND WILL walk all over you, they will very definitely take advantage of knowing you won't deny a task and keep asking, not even knowing if it's draining you. SAYING NO DOESN'T MAKE YOU SELFISH OR A BULLY!! Set up rules for your profile, MAKE them follow them, it will help you in the long run, you can't say yes to everything (it's a lesson I've finally been enforcing for myself...) please just... don't be afraid to let people know where your boundaries and limits are, otherwise you could get taken advantage of, and I really hate seeing that kind of thing happening on here
