Instructions

Q - quits drawing and cycles through an example of a mask I traced and the images generated with the traced outline in Control Net via Automatic1111 Otherwise, to use, first import the image to be traced as a Stage background then resize and center it if necessary using Scratch's image editor Space - toggles drawing, you want to trace over the outer edges of your person/object/etc U - undo last line (draw over in white) note Undo does not affect stamped dots, only drawn lines C - toggles pen color between black and white (erase) numbers - change pen size (0 = biggest) B - toggles between reference image and a white background (useful for line cleanup and checking for stray marks that need to be erased) D - triggers dot mode continue pressing D to cycle through available dots / use arrows to scale and rotate dots / press S to stamp a dot (useful for creating round things like eyes) **note: you do not have to have perfect lines to get good results especially since you can loosen parameters for increased variance even from perfect lines anyway

Description

This project is for hand tracing images to create outlines to be used in the Control Net addon for Stable Diffusion rather than using one of the edge detection methods provided. The downside of extra time spent tracing outlines by hand is offset by the upside of better image generation due to the lack of unnecessary / unwanted outlines. Note that tracing is done with black lines for visibility purposes so resultant images should be inverted for usage (to white lines on a black background) as well as cropped and resized to 512x512. I used the spacer bar to toggle drawing because pressing the mouse button while drawing often messes up line work. Lastly, I made this for personal use and doubt anyone else will ever use it so I left out little things like a pen color indicator, etc. For image editing such as inverting colors and resizing I use the free app Irfanview. Shout out to that dev team, I've been using that app for ages!!
