Choose Fibonacci or Geometric. Fibonacci tree shows 1 trunk, then 2 branches, then 3, 5, 8, 13 ... branches. Geometric tree branches to 2, then 4, 8, 16 ... (geometric progression, doubling from regular splits). Tree branches, blossoms, leaves change color and fall. Sometimes leaves blow close. Look closely and see that the leaf veins branch in the same way as the tree. If you set branch angle deviation & wiggle to zero, the tree is symmetrical. But it looks much more like a real tree if you set deviation to about 15 (degrees), and wiggle at nonzero. I think the branch angle looks best about 30 degrees or less.
I devised a way to turn my Fall 2022 tree into a Fibonacci tree. For each "split" I set one branch to "baby" shoot, and the other is the "mature" original branch. Baby shoots must mature before splitting. That results in a Fibonacci number of branches (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 ...). With similar branching across scales, large and small, the pattern is "fractal." The tree branches in fractal manner. For that branching, I used my coral branching code, added leaves with costumes. Added tree rings for more realism, trying to avoid a flat and monochrome look. Blossoms grow and fall leaves appear via costume change. Added probability to slow down transformation (more meditative). Code repeats branching, each time shrinking, randomly varying branching angle deviations, and changing color. Results in a self-similar pattern known as "fractal." Follows the same kinds simple steps, very much like fractal branching in lungs, and arterial systems. Fall foliage is a term for leaves turning fall colors. Music is one of my favorites by Debussy: Danse sacrée et danse profane - 2. Danse Profane, by "the President's Own" United States Marine Band. One of my very favorite musical pieces. Here I think it works for a contemplative mood fitting the change during my favorite season. #trees #fractals #animation #fall #nature
