i have splatoon ocs now, cool. girl on the left: teri. girl on the right: mila together, they make the idol duo firefish devils!! formerly known as tori, viola, and lionfish rock. stuff was changed for a cooler name and more obvious puns. storytime for my reading/scrolling enthusiasts: Post Octo Expansion, the deepsea metro wasn't running as well as it did, due to the lack of tartar. Because of this, 8 formed a team to basically save it and the former test subjects. This team converted some of the test stations into towns/settlements/cities/etc. They also connected it to a railroad in Inkopolis, so now the residents of both places can visit either place. However, since a lot of the former test subjects had lost their memories, without tests they were strapped on hope and things to do. The previously mentioned team decided to find idols to read the news, but mostly inspire hope, as is the job of idols according to MORE MORE JUMP!. Enter these two. One day, they were sitting next to each other on the train and dropped their wireless earbuds. Neither were listening to anything yet, so they only noticed they had taken the wrong pair when they had already gotten off at different stops. Luckily, they didn't have to wait long to swap them back. The next day, they both went to the audition place to be the idols of Kelpcester (the main deepsea metro city). They conveniently had taken their earbuds with them, anticipating a long wait, temporarily forgetting that they were the wrong ones and didn't exactly work. Teri recognized Mila from the train and ran up to her to give the earbuds back. She was already at the front of the line, so when Teri came up, the hosts mistook the two as a group auditioning together and it was their turn. Neither objected to having to audition at the same time, because Mila wanted her earbuds back and probably wouldn't get another chance (a lot of people were auditioning, so the people running it made sure you were in and out to keep the flow going). Teri didn't really want to wait in line anymore. They went along with it, singing a duet of a song they both already knew. They finished, switched earbuds, went home and forgot about the last minute duo they formed, not expecting to ever see each other again. HOWEVER: They got called back, of course. The callback letter naturally had both of their names on it, and at that point, solo auditions were closed, so their only hope for getting the part was finding each other to write an original song and dance, as was required. Luckily, they still both rode the same train, so that only took... almost two weeks, leaving them with one day to write an entire song. Thankfully, they had ideas, and they mashed them together in time to barely make it to the next round of callbacks. Now that they had exchanged contact information, they didn’t have to waste time trying to find one another. Unfortunately, the problem this time was with them. In the next audition, they had to deliver news and show off their personalities/dynamic, so getting along was kind of important. Teri tried to be friendly, but was a little impatient. Mila is shy around those she doesn't know, so she didn’t really know how to talk to Teri, but she came off as rude/standoffish because of it. That, in turn, caused her to be a little rude back, and it became a vicious cycle. They didn’t get it cleared up in time for the audition, but thank cod they're good at acting because they got to the last round of auditions, which took place a month later. Practicing the final audition, they tried their hardest to act like they were best friends, but the arguments were starting to seep through their acting. In their eyes, they had almost nothing in common, and oh boy, mixed messages. Eventually, though, they confronted the problem, realizing that neither meant to be rude. As far as not having anything in common, once their conversations lost their former bitterness, they realized that they liked a lot of the same bands, had both been involved in musical theater as kids, and overall, they both loved helping people and giving them hope, which is why they signed up to be idols in the first place. So, happy ending: with their newfound friendship, they do their best at the audition and get the part. The end. (Unless I find something else to do with them, who knows.) Moral of the story: If you have an issue with somebody, try to treat the conflict at the source.
