In case you can't keep track of the dates, don't own a calendar, don't have a calendar app installed on any electronic device, or you're somehow living under a rock or in a cardboard box in the parking lot of a denny's somewhere in michigan, we're entering the first days of June 2023, and from here on out, in the coming months, there's gonna be some changes. For starters, i've gotta come clean abt my art-making plans for the summer. (Well....kinda LACK of significant plans actually-) The thing is, come late august i'll actually be starting high school, which is cool obviously, new environment, new people to meet, it won't be a friciking hour away by bus compared to my middle school, new clubs, and other stuff to get pumped about (Who knows, i might even get a bf, gf, or nonbinary romantic partner) But the main thing i'm going to discuss, is that this means i'm leaving middle school. And with it, my chromebook. Aka, the same chromebook i use to make art. Aka, the same chromebook i only have a week left to use. Aka, the device that allows me to access google canvas and create digital art will soon be confiscated from me until the end of the summer. So from like, june something-teenth to when i start high school, i can't make art digitally anymore. Which, is obviously a problem, but this is the first year i can participate in artfight, so there's no way for me to bring my A game, which sucks. Now i'm going to do my best to finish the ATs and payments i owe, as well as the contests i need to enter done asap. But, sometime next week (june 12-16), i'll have to stop making digital art until summer ends. But this doesn't mean i'll go completely active; i can still check my messages and chat, both here and on th with my phone, so you guys won't have to worry abt me dipping out completely ;) But anyways, even though it's been a while, i think i'm going to try getting back in the flow of doing traditional, on-paper art for the time being once i turn my chromebook into the school. I've seen some really cool OTA's open (I'M COMING AT YOU, ALICE), as well as some contests, but if i do end up working on payments/entering, it'll be done traditionally. Now regarding Artfight, i'm honestly still on the fence about whether or not i should participate. I get that it'll be fun attacking my friends, but since i'm limited to traditional means, my teenage insecurity complex is going to go nuts when i inevitably compare my art to that of my friends (i do it every day lmao). On top of that people, well, not my age use artfight, and like thousands of people register every year, so this is a whole other can of worms i'm still debating on whether or not i should jump into. (Yeah i have a th account, but that site feels more safer tbh) (Plus my e-you-know-what is not a google one which i'm not even sure is compatible with the site-) But if i do join, the only characters i'm probably going to set up are my sona and the hexology cast. (Lucas, Toni, Max, Taylor, Mitch, and Skylar) (and MAYBE Arin because of Arix/Maarin content, but i'm not sure, since Noella Magica barely has a plot outline, or real refs for any of the characters-) So the main points are; - I'm only going to be able to make traditional art from next week to the end of the summer - Any contests, otas i offer for, or trades i do will also be done traditional in that timestamp - I'm still heavily debating whether or not i'll do artfight this year, but if i decide yes i'm only going to use traditional art in attacks, as well as only set up a select few characters. Anyways, that's basically it.
