*READ EVERYTHING FIRST* No, seriously, I mean it. First submitted under CS50x, now resubmitted under CSCI E-50 Fixed bug concerning The Harvard Coat of Arms, which is rectified after the sprite is activated, the music plays a bit, and the space bar is pressed. New iTunes seems incapable of rendering correct music file formats for upload, so excerpts have remained the same. Pump up the volume! Some of the excerpts you will hear (e.g., trombone, French Horn, bassoon) are in a rather low register. When prompted, press the space bar to see a map of the typical symphony orchestra. Next, press each instrument's clef (i.e., the clef in which each instrument typically plays, though many instruments play in multiple clefs) to hear selections from assorted symphonic masterworks featuring each instrument. Note, other instruments may be playing simultaneously, so I assume the listener is reasonably astute (e.g., s/he can discern the difference between horns and the violins they introduce). Click on another clef to hear a different excerpt while one is already in progress, or use the space bar to stop an orchestral excerpt without playing another one. Click The Harvard Coat of Arms LAST.
