Credit to @TheScarfedStickman for the original project, @Super_Boy11 for the contest and tools, and by connection, Nintendo for WarioWare and PICO-8 for the color palette. Piskel, Beepbox, and jsfxr were also used in making this microgame, and nothing more. Yeah, I really liked this microgame submission for WarioWare 2023, and I wanted to improve it. So, like I usually do with my microgame remixes, here's a list of differences: MAJOR: - Music is now retro and 140 BPM. - Sound effects are now retro, with voices being bit-crushed. - Darkness and letters are adapted to a pixel scale of x2. - Background is now a bit less plain. - The rest of the words were added based on list in the project. - An additional three letters not in the word spawn alongside the required letters. - Letters won't spawn touching the word sign or edges. MODERATE: - The current letter required flashes on the word sign. - Upon winning or losing, the darkness fades away. - Upon a win, the word sign moves to the center and enlarges. - Upon a loss, all instances of the required letter flash. - Letters are a lot less likely to spawn overlapping each other. MINOR: - Letters now drift around slightly. - Three letter sprites are merged into one. - Fixed bug caused by clicking a letter while it is fading. - Some unused letters are recolored with brighter colors from the palette. Let me know if something needs to be changed, or if you prefer that I do something. In particular, if the voice sounds are considered undesirable, they may be removed.
