A Polyrhythm combines two or more rhythms, each rhythm having a different number of equally spaced beats in the same amount of time. eg. a 3 4 polyrhythm has 3 beats of one rhythm and 4 beats of another rhythm in the same amount of time. This project illustrates a 3 4 6 12 Polyrhythm with an Animation using Polygons that I saw on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIyJHC4DWU4 "2023 Best Animated Polyrhythm" by PccFreeSpace * Note that this project shows the component beats of each polyrhythm before showing the whole polyrhythm.
Huge thanks to PccFreeSpace for their YouTube Video "2023 Best Animated Polyrhythm" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIyJHC4DWU4 that I have made into a Scratch Project. The first polyrhythm in this project is the YouTube 3 4 6 12 polyrhythm animated with polygons and dots. The second polyrhythm is a 2 4 5 10 polyrhythm. Then all polyrhythms are random (within constraints). The beat sounds are also random within constraints. This project moves the dots around the polygons in 60 moves, so only uses selected polygons that are a factor of 60 as follows: 2,3,4,5,6,10,or 12 sides. Ok, I know that 2 sides does not a polygon make! Thus all sounds in each polyrhythm can be played exactly at vertices of the polygons.
