For school! Paragraph: I interviewed Ms. Cabrera and I learned many things that helped me understand her as not just a teacher, but also a person. I think that interviewing an elder can really help you connect with the world around you, and get out of your comfort zone and allow you to grasp that teachers do have lives outside of teaching. It is really easy to mistake a teacher for somebody who solely teaches for their life, and this project really helped me go past that and fully realize that teachers are indeed human beings as well. I learned about Ms. Cabrera’s childhood, goals, and hopes, I learned about how she got into teaching, and why she loved it so much. I learned about a lot of her story that has led up to this point, and it really helped me connect to her as well as see how alike we are. This has really allowed me to further view her with similarity.
