The colossal of Scratcher Haven had to sacrifice itself to save it's people from the purple Carcralocks. This is why it can't join in on it's song and the island's eyes are empty. Fortunately, it's spirit went into a robot one of the inhabitants was working on. Now it can breed, talk, walk, and make some sick beats!
