For ten years Stefanie was raised by her ex-parents Liza and Jason ( they will be introduced later ). When Stefanie was diagnosed with autism at the age of 5, it was revealed that her ex-parents were ableist and started family drama because of these misunderstandings. Then Stefanie would always look forward to getting misunderstood and teased by kids her age for her differences and being mentally abused, mistreated, and rejected by her ex-parents. Because of all the hate, rejection, and misunderstandings, Stefanie felt like there was nothing she could do and couldn't help but run away from home so she wouldn't have to deal with her ex-parents ever again. Stefanie running away worried Liza and Jason, and this even devastated the couple, so they put up missing posters all over the neighborhood with a reward of $1000. After months of searching for Stefanie, Liza and Jason decided to call the police so they could return their daughter back to the couple. At this time Stefanie was missing for 3 years. At the age of 8, Stefanie's worst nightmare came true as she was surrounded by a sheriff and her ex-parents. Just when she was forced to get in the police car, she reveals to the sheriff why she ran away in the first place. The sheriff felt bad for all the abuse she went through, so they hired the police to arrest Liza and Jason and sentence them for *who knows how long* for criminal child negligence. Shortly after Stefanie's ex-parents were arrested, she was taken to an adoption center and befriended other homeless kids who had special needs like her. She lived there for 9 months and felt a lot more comfortable. Meanwhile, Zarah's aunt Marina had always wanted a child, but has been through numerous miscarriages, so she and her husband Lloyd decided to try the adoption center and found Stefanie. They knew she was desperate for a loving family, and agreed to adopt her. Since Stefanie was adopted, she has been living with her new parents Marina and Lloyd after all the mistreatment and abuse from her ex-parents. It was a miracle when Stefanie finally found her place in the world and a loving family who supports her. Now she has two aunts, a husband, two children, two nieces, and two nephews.
