Zoe's Universe Zoe is a girl who loves to draw she is an artist who makes her own little universe on paper because she can’t tell the world about it through words. Her world is so different from everyone else’s but it is still the same. She goes to school every morning ready for a new opportunity, a new chance to maybe make a friend but she comes home every afternoon, discouraged. She can’t understand why no one likes her she knows she has autism but why does that make a difference? She can’t communicate through words but she can communicate well enough through paper and why doesn’t that count? She can’t handle lights sounds touch they’re too bright, too loud, too hard. Sometimes she gets stuck in her head and in her little universe and hurts herself but not on purpose. She can’t understand empathy or show emotion she is stuck in her own little universe where nobody needs it. They tell her she is broken, wrong. They tell her she is different but in a bad way. Zoe is a girl who is strong she faces her own challenges, so different than the ones we do every day but she never gives up, never loses hope. Zoe is a girl who has hopes, dreams, a story to share. Zoe is a girl with a purpose, a right to live, because she is human and she is perfect just the way she is. She is beautiful, unique, special in her own way. She is not broken or wrong. She is just Zoe. And she is amazing.
