Samir was banished from Scratcher Island for committing many crimes such as armed robbery, attempted murder, saxophone harassment etc. He is allowed to live in Scratcher Haven under one condition. He must live in the caverns under the island alone. Only coming out to get food or to join in on the song. It is unknown how the monster produces the weird sound it makes.
