If they won, Sphinx would leave the lands of the waterless beach. But if they lost, Sphinx would take their soul and eat it, increasing their life span. This went on for hundreds of years, Humans and Monsters had fallen from Sphinx riddles, they had a streak of 1,459 wins and 0 losses. Then, one day, a young human showed up in their place, and challenged Sphinx. Of course Sphinx thought he was going to win, this was a child, they must know almost nothing about riddles. But to their surprise, this child.. this human child was able to answer their riddles without faltering once. Accepting their fate, Sphinx did what he said he would do and left the desert without looking back.
