This build takes place 4 months before the “Later Build” of the game and it includes text saying Mario replacing the hud. However it is important to note that the coin counter is hidden from sight. Mario’s Sprites have a different design and a pallette that looks almost the final release. There was originally going to be a split screen 2 player but due to technical limitations it wasn’t featured in the final release. The only thing left is Luigi’s Sprite in the files of the player character “Mario”. This build was intended to be shown as a playable demo but it wasn’t released as the water level was glitched and the demo couldn’t be published in time.
