All Stages and Music: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/882423859/ This description includes: General points, Veteran notes and a full character list. Now SSBG's final engine has been released, I figured I'd create a new project with the full roster and sprite-sheets. It does not include possibilities, just the plan. So Marth, Dr. Mario / Gooigi (Clones) or other series. Just the core characters. This project serves the two purposes of restating the roster, helping people stay up to date and to track specifics about characters. Characters developed: None Portraits made: 17/20 Full Roster: Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Link, Ganondorf, Samus, Kirby, Ness, Captain Falcon, Fox, Sonic, Dr. Eggman, Jibanyan, Goku, Vegeta. Marth, Dr. Mario, Gooigi and one more secret character are also likely, in addition to a few extra characters like Grovyle (Depending on if Spybaz wants to add them.) I selected the roster by getting the original 12, my absolute most wanted series outside of those 12 and 5 villains. This is the 'Golden Twenty' as I'd like to call it. There are a couple more I've considered- there somewhere in the notes Notes about characters (Gameplay only, so no info about bios, portraits or victory animations / themes): - Mario and Luigi are a blend between their Super Mario 64 DS and New Super Mario Bros. selves. - Mario is mostly the same as his mainline counterpart, however his movement is akin to modern Mario platformers. He also has the Ground Pound and possibly a new side special. - Luigi is also the same, but his moveset includes the Poltergust in some form (Likely his grab) and the Thunder Ball from Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. The Thunder Ball doesn't move, and the charge up only requires a button press and can only be interrupted by an attack- So Luigi cannot move. It does 15% damage and stuns the foe long enough for a quick smash attack or grab. - Dr. Mario and Gooigi are the only clones that could get in this project. The only characters close to clones in the base roster are the Semi-Clones Luigi and Vegeta. Gooigi would be the hardest to control, but the most evasive character in the game. Dr. Mario is like his Smash counterpart. Semi-Clones are characters that share a lot of traits. Clones are characters that are near identical. Clones = Echoes. - Bowser and Yoshi's spritesheets aren't perfect... So they might be revamped entirely, they might not. Use whatever is available. Bowser's may require some creativity. - Donkey Kong will be original for the most part. His Dash Attack is a roll that can lead into arial attacks, speeding up when hitting a foe. His intro animation is hopping out of a balloon-barrel. His Neutral is the Coconut Gun, his side he rides on Rambi, his new recovery is the barrel cannon and his down special can't be held down, but sends a shockwave. Other kongs can be Smash attacks or grabs. - Pikachu, Jigglypuff and Mewtwo are the same. The only way I can think of utilising the Iron Tail for Pikachu would be some sort of pogo down air- like Link. Mewtwo is a little faster to make him more viable. - Link is more agile, but still like his smash counterpart. His Forward-Smash is the megaton hammer. Holding Shield+Down (Inkling style) can change arrows. He has unlimited normal arrows, but limited arrows per stock- like Banjo & Kazooie's wonderwing. Ice freeze foes, Fire does extra damage, and Light stuns. - Ganondorf, a bit like DK is a revamp. He has a cape that can get tattered with damage, and is faster than Bowser. He is faster, but a little weaker. His revamps are mostly to his physicals, giving his sword a more proactive role. The only thing I would add that isn't too minor is giving him dead man's volley. - Samus is the same, although maybe cut her missiles for the Speed Booster, and make the bombs more explosive. - Kirby should be the same, but if Spybaz has ideas, he can add them. I can only imagine giving Kirby the fireball copy ability as a dash. If copying is too hard or specific, just make Kirby spit a star like the earlier games. His rock transformations include: Stone Kirby, Star Stone (Super star), 8t, Gordo and Thwomp (SM64). Other ideas include: Bricks, Stone of Time (Oot), Moveable Stone (Sonic 1), Shadowside Komasan Statue, Piccolo (Petrified). - Ness gets a slight revamp. PK Flash has great horizontal control, but minimal vertical movement. PK Fire is more like a charged beam like seen in EarthBound. PK Thunder is more like Pikachu's thunderbolt. His down special stays the same. Either that, or he is 100% accurate, just with a PSI meter to prevent PK Fire spamming. - Fox and Captain Falcon stay the same. Hopefully they have their 64 and GX designs respectively. - Sonic I have a lot of ideas for, but I think giving him a dash is key. Fireball shield, anyone? Spybaz suggests giving him Tails as the new recovery. I'll let him make Sonic as fleshed out as possible.

Description

This description includes: Newcomer notes, sprite sheets and credits. - Newcomer notes - - Unfortunately there isn't a ton of room for newcomers, but I hope they'll be as fleshed out as possible. Refer to spritesheets if possible. - Eggman's physicals are heavy and spike. Big hitboxes for attacks. Although, when not attacking, he's just an overweight sandbag. He'd be a little faster than Mewtwo. His jumps would be the lowest in the game, but he has a hover recovery that he can land arials with. It has limited fuel and can only be recharged by taking damage to prevent campers. He has a badnik puppet gimmick, which summons badniks. Just some general ideas. He was picked over Knuckles as he was more original and fleshed out- I wanted to do the Sonic series the most justice possible, so the most original character was chosen. - Jibanyan's moves are as seen on his spritesheet, but his specials are different. His Neutral-B is his rapid jab of paws- Paws of Fury. He can charge this up through his soul meter. It is a long attack that moves Jibanyan slightly forward at the beginning, but it is incredibly powerful- Falcon Punch levels of strength. His side special a fireball attack. His up special is him being floated up by Whisper. - Goku and Vegeta are the strongest and fastest in the game. Vegeta is a little stronger and has lower jumps, whilst Goku is a little faster but slightly weaker. Their neutral is their respective beam, side is ki blasts, recovery is a teleport for Goku and a vanish for Vegeta. Down special they charge up until their meter maxes- then they become Super Sayain until launch or the meter runs out, whether it be due to overuse of specials or hitting 100% damage. Glass cannons basically. Goku, Vegeta and SSJ Goku are all roughly the same in terms of moves, whilst SSJ Vegeta gets a new neutral and side. They have no turning lag when dashing. They probably will only have 40 sprites per form to save space and to commit to their speed. They'll likely have multiple teleport / afterimage esc air dodges, but they'll have terrible vertical movement- jump and airdodge wise. However, these airdodges and their levitate should mean they'll have good horizontal movement. I may cut SSJ and make them fight entirely in it to save space depending on limitations though. - Bonus Notes - - Marth is the only non-clone I can see getting in without feeling like filler that would be classified as a bonus rep. The rest are clones. [Clones are characters with identical spritesheets for physicals and most non-specials. Technically Luigi and Vegeta are semi-clones... but I consider them OG fighters with similar properties- like Jigglypuff.] - Marth is pretty much the same. Just an alternative for competitive players and sword lovers that don't want to play as Link. - Dr. Mario is a stiffer, slower, heavier and yet stronger Mario. If Mario gets a gimmick, he'll likely be the alternative. - Same goes for Gooigi, but he'll be more original as he'll have the worst traction in the game and tweaked specials. An important note about everyone else. After these 20-23 are made, I'd probably have announced the release date. I can only see one or two more getting in, and they'd likely be characters I'd have fun making or playing OR characters that would be really easy to make. Solid Snake, Raiden (MGS2, clone of Snake) and Waluigi will likely be in this game if I get the time as last minute inclusions. Anyone else though highly requested is just too much... the roster is TIGHT. Anyone else WILL NO GET IN due to various limitations. Trust me. Been researching for years now, and character dev has a lot of factors you have to consider...
